Miles is actually the best possible fit from a pure basketball standpoint. Young, athletic, can shoot, and is a terrific rebounder.

Absolutely. I am unaware of any problem with CHA this past year - not in the locker room and no boycotts that might have been threatened. Of course to go after Miles, Josh Harris would have to give approval and a plan for rehabilitation. DET and CHA may go in a different direction. Ironically CHA could get Tobi in free agency if they want another direction. PHILLY is the perfect fit for him and less chance to have problems. The concern is that CHA could try to S&T to a playoff team without cap space. If PHILLY doesn't give some indication that they might be interested, Miles might agree to a S&T before being giving the Sixers a chance. Oubre was a teammate for 1 yr. He should be consulted. In a very weak statement the following was said: "A source familiar with the team’s thinking says they are not expected to pursue Bridges" It didn't even say a "team source", which means its just from a reporter who talks with some people associated with the team. It is certainly not an absolute NO if other options fail (which that will). From the beginning, other insiders have suggested that Sixers should pursue Bridges if other options fail. By a reporter (I think we know who the reporter is) releasing that statement to Paul Hudrick, the result is that Miles contract value stays low - closer to 15 M than 25 M if DET is not interested and CHA is only mildly interested. That could leave 30 - 35 M of cap space to bring back Oubre, Batum, Hield (or alternative) and Payne, while keeping Reed, Dowtin and of course RC4.

Nobody want to talk about him because of his past, I get it, but he deserves a chance. What a GM is supposed to do is put clauses in the contract. It is not rocket science he can help this team because he can defend, score and rebound 7 a game 36 percent from three point land which will get better playing with Joel. Miles Bridges is 26 at the beginning of his prime, not at the end like Paul George and the other old all stars.

Totally agree, most players have risk: Butler - age. PG - age. Ingram - has he peaked for his $? OG - injuries. Bridges has an off the court risk, but hopefully with the right guys around him and a good team culture that can change.

Thanks for being the first You Tuber to have the courage to say the obvious. Miles Bridges has always been the best available fit next to Joel. The guy can rebound and play intensely for big minutes. His defense can improve even more, under Nurse, as was the case for Oubre. He just turned age 26 and hasn't even reached his upside and he was near All Star level this past season and was an Iron Horse. I have no idea what he really did and I've heard bad things about his former girlfriend. No one knows the full truth, but that was 3 yrs ago, and I'm unaware. The best analogy should be Jason Kidd, who was called a wife-beater before being traded to the Nets. I re-started following BBall that year, and there was absolutely no problems and Kidd's history was never mentioned once he started playing for the Nets. Of course Kidd barely lost out to Tim Duncan for MVP. I don't remember any NBA suspension for Kidd. In these new Cancel Culture times, Miles served a thirty game suspension already. Kidd would later have a DUI on Long Island, and still everyone forgot about it. The talk by certain members of the media that there would be some fan mutiny is bogus. Miles just needs to say the right things and perform on the court. There was no boycott in CHA and there wouldn't be in Philly if he performed on the court.

I been hammering for that.

There is talk that both CHA and DET may go in a different direction. So unless he agrees to a S&T, he might be closer to 15 M, especially since a reporter said that Sixers likely not to pursue Miles Bridges (that depresses his market). And since Miles believes he is an All Star player, I would expect he'll accept a shorter term contract, to give him a chance to prove himself.

Teams just don't have the space. I'm worried though about a S&T, in which case Morey won't even have a chance because he's so focused on Big Fish. Sixers like other teams are pretending they won't go there. There is likely some dirty stuff going on, with some people spreading word that Sixers fans would go crazy if went in that direction. That never happened in CHA and it didn't happen with "wife beater" Jason Kidd. No member of the media will ever bring up that story today.
