It breaks my heart that he said if you are not Muslim you are not really understand Rumi. All I have to say is that reading Rumi has hit me straight right in my heart many, many times I can’t read his poetry without tears coming to my eyes. It has made me understand things I didn’t even know existed, but specially it has helped me starting to see and understand God beyond something I never ever thought I had the capacity to see. Rumi’s teachings have given me so much strength and it has helped me in every aspect of my life. I was raised catholic but now just like said “my religion is love”
Rumi's masterpiece, the Masnavi (مثنوي), is a broadly influential work, commonly called "the Quran in Persian." It is a spiritual text that teaches people how to reach their goal of being truly in love with God. Thank you for sharing these beautiful reflections.
