Rules of Archery
Archery involves using a bow to shoot arrows at a stationary target.
There are ten concentric circles that represent different tracts on the circular disk used as the target.
The objective is to shoot the target with an arrow.
The bowstring will be stretched after placing the back-end of the arrow for initializing an input force that throws it towards the target.

Yes, risers and limbs usually come separately, you might be able to find some bigger stores do like package deals or "kits" which comes with pretty much everything a beginner would need at a slightly discounted price. And DO NOT get above 26lbs yet. I know you power lift, I know you're strong, but archery uses a lot of very small muscles which control the fine motor aspects like aiming and expansion. It's also an endurance sport, power lifting exercises pretty much the exact opposite of endurance... To prevent joint issues or injuries like small muscle and tendon damages, stay low poundage for the first 6 months at least until you can shoot a good 40-50m reliably. There's no need for it yet.

I don't understand the part about dry firing a recurve bow. Seems like a myth that it can cause damage. Any opinion on that?

@@brotendo thanks for asking! While with current high quality manufacturing and technology, I will say its unlikely to cause damage, especially with low-poumdage bows. However that doesn't mean that you should, especially not often, once or twice may be okay. But 10-20 times, you're significantly more likely to see problems! It's also much less likely with a full stabiliser and dampening system on the bow, because it transfers most of the vibration away from the bow. The simplest way to think about it is, when an arrow is shot, the vast majority of the kinetic energy is transferred into the arrow and away from the bow. But without an arrow loaded, all that kinetic energy has to go somewhere, in the form of sound energy which is why you normally hear a loud bang when it happens, heat energy, and a lot of vibration and shock that goes back into the limbs, which they alone aren't designed to withstand. This can cause stress cracks, and over time will cause the limbs to fail. And if they do explode or snap which has happened in the past, even at the world cup/Olympics I don't remember which. (A Hoyt Velos limb broke) The last thing you want to happen is for splinters and stuff to fly into your eyes. Does that help? If you have any further questions please, feel free to ask away!

@@nicoconiconi Ah, I see. That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for taking the time answering that for me! I was thinking of buying a bow called SAS Explorer Metal Riser and they make an aluminum section where you grip the bow. I'm hoping this will help with longevity.

@@brotendo no problem! Haven't heard of a SAS bow, not sure where you're from, but I'd highly recommend going to a local archery specific shop to get you hooked up with an ILF riser (the metal bit) that stands for International Limb Fitting. There's lots of great retailers who will be happy to make sure you've got the best bang for your buck! What country are you from and I'll give some recommendations? Are you part of a club?

@@nicoconiconi I live in California and I found the Pasadena Roving Archers near me. It looks like they've been around for 100 years! Also there is an archery shop about 20 miles from me that sells the ILF products. I haven't joined an archery club, but I think I will join this one in Pasadena. Thank you!

At my archery range the 4 whistles/ yells (cuz the whistles don’t always work) means that there’s a person walking there dog people don’t know how far arrows can actually go.

Is there really a hole in the middle of the target face? Zero points for a center shot!? Not likely!...all the target archery faces I've ever seen have 10 points in the center field, not the ring around it like here. To give the true picture You'll have to imagine all the different colored fields moved one notch towards the middle and the one furthest out...now without color, removed from the target face....and then You also move all the points one notch towards the middle.
