    These are great videos! Thank you An increasingly more common tactic amongst dinghy sailors is sailing backwards on the start line prior to the start signal to extricate themselves from a crowd and find a better hole. I would be really grateful if you could comment on which rules apply to the boats around them, particularly those behind and clear astern who are sailing forwards rather than backwards? Thanks in advance - Marc

    Thanks for the feedback! Regarding sailing backwards, Rule 22.3 states that a boat moving astern or sideways to windward (i.e., crabbing), through the water by backing a sail shall keep clear of one that is not.
