Ruins of Shiv temple in Warangal Fort

Warangal Fort in Telangana has this must visit site where haunting ruins of a great Shiva temple lie strewn. One sees magnificent gates that have intricate carvings. Then there are broken and defaced statues of Gods and Goddesses lying everywhere. Only Shiva linga and Nandi are more or less intact. This place looks like it was devastated centuries ago.

Spent 4 years of my life in here...!! Three major attractions : Warangal Fort, 1000 Pillar temple, Bhadrakali Temple, and slightly little far is Palampet famous for its 12th Century architecture and the oceanic reservoir. Loved it totally.

As always, symbols of ancient India, devastated by "peacefuls"; while we, educated by Nehruvian state, have remained ignorant about it! Thanks Anujji, for sharing this wonderful video.

This Shiva temple is destroyed by Ulugu Khan, also called as Mohammed bin Tuglak. His father Tughluq belonged to the "Qarauna tribe of the Turkey", who lived in the hilly region between Turkestan and Sind. they are powerful military men worked under Allauddin Khilji. Allauddin’s commander Malik Kafur first invaded this kingdom in 1310 and took away Khonoor diamond 💎 from this place.
