usually slime rancher playthroughs take time to go from “aww they’re so cute” to rampant capitalism, but RT just goes straight to stock market overpopulated empire. love that for him

@@mistahchad220 basically if you give a largo a plort that doesn't come from that slime they turn into a tarr slime which will eat your slimes

Fun fact: This game is so wholesome, that slimes literally cannot die. The only way to get rid of unwanted slimes, is to throw them in the ocean. The thing is though, according to the lore, the ocean is made of slime, meaning that those slimes just get reunited with their friends before washing up on shore, with no knowledge about what happened to them!

You can turn them into Tarr and then dissolve them. I also believe Water and Fire slimes will die by disappearing if not in their special pen

The Mossy Grotto is a nightmare to navigate early game. _Especially_ before you've found the map. Even in late game, it's so easy to get turned around...

The average first-time Moss Blanket experience always turns into an escape room. If you have the jetpack or use a largo as a platform to jump up to the ledge above the entrance, where the hobson note is, you're fine. If you don't figure that out, you have to find the teleporter at the far end of the area. If you don't figure that out... you cry. Or die. Both, maybe.

I accept this alternate reality. The one where Walter dropped his farm and got REALLY into the slime hutch. (Or double alternatively): This is the post apocalyptic world after he opened the door to the hutch years after forgetting to check on it, and all the goo came flooding out.

He only had Pink Slimes for the base population is why. Largos only seem to like to eat Plorts occasionally, while base slimes hoover them up as soon as they find them. They basically acted as a heat sink to prevent disaster!

If you've wondered where all the rest of the failed Mew clones went to after the events of Pokemon Red and Blue, this is where they eventually ended up and evolved from Ditto into the Slimes as a new species similar to Diglett and Wiglett

having watched slime rancher when it was still in like open alpha and following all the changes watching this was like watching a family member being tortured

It's incredible how Dan made such a comfy game so stressful to watch

I love how close he got to abject disaster at the very beginning by putting two different kinds of Largos in the same pen. Must've been hell to watch live, but thanks for not spoiling it for him.

As someone with 300 hours in this game, this is the definition of mildly infuriating and I kind of love it

And here we see a wild RT running amok with a literal gun to capture slimes in their natural habitat, only to put them in a smaller cage for his entertainment-

"Is there fall damage in this game?" --RT "Can I just?" Walks off another ledge in a first person adventure/sci-fi game set in another world and immediately discovers death mechanics: "I'm tryin' to understand the game."

Although it does only peeve you, I might as well take it as a lesson on sentence structure and how certain phrases can change someone's outlook on a sentence. I love how in the bio for honey slimes it says that people put it in cereal and almost not fit for consumption while its also the shit of the slimes

8 minutes in and I am in awe his farm has not been overrun by Tarr yet

I've never played Slime Rancher but the way Dan plays it somehow brings me mental pain.

Being part of the Speedrun community of Slime rancher and also finishing the second game recently, I'm quite happy to see RT play the game now finally, it's one of my favourite games and i'm so happy my favourite KZreadr/Streamer is playing it now, i enjoy everything RT makes and i'm sure i'll enjoy this playthrough especially :D

the first time I played this game by the second hour I had created an apocalypse and since I didn't know I could harvest water to kill the tars I just accepted my fate

One of these days, seeing an RT upload and subsequently realizing its 4am, *again*, will lead to me going to sleep. One day. *clicks play*

Fun fact about the Ocean in Slime Rancher. It's huge amalgamation of slime, and its sapient, essentially making it a god, whenever you shoot a slime into the slime ocean it adds to the huge amalgamation, a few days later said slime will wash up on a random shoreline happy as ever :)

I was actually there for the stream and made a few suggestions, and let me say that was singlehandedly the most infuriatingly funny stream of all time

As someone who has an entire corral of 50 pink slimes for the 3 refinerys (the drill, pump, and bee farm) the thumbnail speaks to me.

for sure, I'm debating trying out this game - I keep going back and forth because I realize me playing it will never be as entertaining as watching him

Tips for slime rancher if RT plans to make another episode: 1. you probably only want 10-12 largos per cage but if you are doing exclusively the smaller ones you could fit around 200 (assuming you have the higher wall and air net upgrades). 2. always breed largos to ensure they eat either vegetables or fruit. meat is slow and unreliable for food and crops are harvest-able every day and are made wildly more efficient with a few cheap upgrades. Just don't use meat ever, it's really bad. 3. all slimes (excluding pink) have a favourite food which upon consumption they will provide 2 plorts instead of one. this applies to largo's as well but they will have two favourites (from both species) and upon consumption of either they will produce four plorts (two of each type they consist of). Please note that some slime's favourite food is certain types of meat, you can work around this by using the strat from no. 2 to feed them a plant based favourite. please also note that every slime's favourite, once discovered, will appear in the slimepedia (accessible from the pause menu). 4. my last tip will be focused on exploration. Once you finish with an area and have all the slimes you want from it on your ranch you may feel stuck behind the slime gates. these are easily opened with a slime key but they may seem hard to get you hands on. They are obtained from popping gordo slimes around the world and my advise is once you find one, just pop it asap. You'll thank yourself later and it usually only take 10 minutes of foraging to get the food required. I hope you see these RT and I hope they help, from someone who has played the game WAY too much.

The fact a tarr didn’t spawn is fucking INSANE

Dan encountered so many rare slimes and didn’t know what to do with them. The pain I feel is immeasurable.

I remember I put all my dangerous slime *experiments* in the bay, so since i never log on to feed them, they have exploded since, I just never added a drone because getting the honey is hard

Well, I fully expected Dan to turn all his slimes into Tarr, so this is actually a pretty good effort on his part.

I hopped on Slime rancher 2 for the first time, and I got flooded with happy memories of my slime rancher 1 Playthrough, so glad you decided to play the first game before hopping straight to the 2nd.

there's actually a story and an ending to slime rancher, which you get by exploring the map and reading the mail. it's a pretty good ending and it makes you feel a bit emotional after you spent a lot of time getting to know all the slimes and best way to get more money.

It's rather nice to see Dan slowly figuring out all the game's mechanics and such

watching this made me so happy, been playing this since 2017 and its such a comforting lil game

Seeing RT play a cheery happy game by turning it into dystopian capitalism is amazing

RT there's a phosphor Largo (big boy) in a hidden place by the left of the *transition* between the first rock slime spawning area, and the area before the former tabby Largo It looks like a cliffside into the sea, but looking down there's a path were turning left again you'll find a cave with a Large Bud ready to eat some *mangos*

Im 99.99999999% percent sure you've figured this out already but in the rare case you haven't. If your ever confused about what a slime wants the top right of your hud will tell you what foods and such they eat. (Side note i never smiled the pain away as hard as i had to watching theses streams) in the end im just glad your having fun. Such a good game. I was gonna say a relaxing game but you somehow figured out how to make it stressful.
