Ellie, please before you call a professional, try blue dawn dish soap. I have had oil paint that was dried and soaked into a canvas apron for a year come out with that. My brother sat in his car with fabric seats with his mechanic suit on and got car grease on his upholstery and we got it out. You may not want to try it on the couch, but just do another little tester on the carpet with the dish soap. Just barely dampen the carpet then take the blue Dawn dish soap and put a drop down. Use a little toothbrush or a damp corner of a town and gently scrub it - you want it to be a really thick foam at this point. Keep adding a dab more water and then scrub a bit more, bit more water, more scrub, etc. Use a dry corner of the towel to soak up the soap, etc. You may have to do it a few times or put more water on and soak it up... you'll get a feel for it, see it working and know what to do. Just remember it's the soap that is cutting the grease, so don't let it dry on, but keep working it so the soap gets all down the carpet shaft, etc. You'll know when to soak it all up for good. You can always start over if you have to. xoxox Heather 🇨🇦

Great idea! I completely forgot about the good old protection plans - a must for anyone especially those with kids and pets! I don't know what I would have done without it after some of the not so little accidents on my poor furniture! Red wine, crayons, spaghetti sauce, muddy dog paws - the usual stuff, I guess, but the protection plans really came through for me!

When we paint we use like a waterproof tablecloth that way you don't have to send it through the wash and you can just wash it with a washcloth after to keep your carpet clean! Haha I think it's great!
