I get the reason behind this but im afraid if it had been a boy it would have gone un noticed Violence must never be confronted on a gender based platform,no violence against anyone is acceptable

This is why rugby became my passion: for 80 mintues, it's a very hard battle, but with all the respect what can be. This is the most beautiful sport ever made.

American here. Im glad that I discovered and got to play Rugby in HS. It is a very under rated sport here in the U.S. I wish it was more popular here. Rugby is awesome.

Kiwi in the USA here. I just want Rugby to attract the people that fit its philosophy, rather than numbers for numbers sake. On that note, Rugby really just needs more fellows like yourself by the sound of it mate, that get that it’s something special that builds the individual & by extension their families & communities, rather than something that primarily fills bank accounts and feeds egos. Good on ya mate, run it straight.

Rugby is truely.....a gentlemans game...there are times to be a warrior, times to be a father, times to be a brother, times to be a fan, times to be a mentor, but at all times, time to be a real man.

Rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen. That's why it's the greatest game of all. Glad to have been brought up not just in the town of it's birth but the game itself. The sooner we can get it back the better. Stay safe folks.

I had the privilege of playing for the Rugby 1st XV on the William Webb Ellis Ground when I taught PE at Dunsmore School in Rugby in the early 1960's. Still have the club tie and have a great deal of fun explaining to some that although I played for the "Rugby Lions" I am certainly not an International player. Remember games v Coventry with the England front row along with other teams from around the Midlands. My second son was born in a house situated kiddie corner from Rugby School and the pitch where the ball was first picked up.

@@finn54123 Not sure about that, but the Betfred Super Rugby League is back in business. I have been in Canada now for 54 years so follow on the web only. Toronto Wolfpack is now in the top division and my old team was the first to play them in UK. Must say though that I have always preferred the 15-a-side game.

I still have the RWC final on my TV and I watch it when I'm sad or when I just wanna watch good rugby. I'm not South African, but I admire them and want to see them go far. I remember staring at the screen with my jaw on the floor watching that match. It was wonderful.

@@sophiekerr8964 There is a documentary called Chasing the Sun that just aired on TV in South Africa. It takes a look at the journey to from losing 57 - 0 to winning the World Cup. Very inspirational.

Always respect your opponent, the ref, and the fans. Always.

What a fantastic video. Many thanks. These men are amongst the most physically powerful athletes out there but still retain grace, humour and humility. What a sport.

Seeing these ultimate competitors like Owen Farrell Sonny Bill, matthieu Bastareud who have all crossed a line on occasion, be respectful to their opposition sums up rugby.

During these mad, mad weeks there are only two things who keep me sane, literally: Watching traditional music-videos from Southern Africa or the music only and watching rugby. Such videos like this one put tears in my eyes.

I was at the tribute match when lomu passed away a few years ago and that was one of the most heartbreaking and beautiful things ever... Rugby and its fans are just amazing... beautiful game

I played this great game in college decades ago and still miss the camaraderie and polite behavior fundamental to the sport. #ElegantViolence

Never would I have thought that most uplifting thing I have seen in ages, would be a rugby video.

Rugby is just one of the many reasons why I moved to Ireland 2 decades ago. Never been disappointed in the Irish lads no manner who managed the team, who retired or how bad their seasons went. COVID-19 only strengthened that love.

Yeah, why I love this game! Three additions come to mind. The President or PM if France greeting the French squad; Shane Williams (and his kids) after his last game for Wales; groups of Japanese fans learning the national anthems of the other countries (with special mention to the group that learned RSA’s!!!). Every time a player stops play seeing an opponent seriously injured. Every time the South Pacific Islanders pray with their opponents after a game. Every time a player respects the ref (even if it’s not Nigel!). Every National anthem. Every child welcomed on the pitch.

I loved the national anthems, the RWC being in Japan ignited such a passion and I'm so glad they got as far as they did as well. The whole nation was so hyped!

I didn't grow up with rugby and know very little about it, but it looks to me to be the most noble of the major team sports, especially of the contact sports.

Sorry but that simply isn't true. ALL sports include passion, respect and camaraderie. The difference is that only rugby makes such a big deal out of it. Claiming that only rugby possesses those attributes is just pompous.

The best example of sportsmanship was in the 1995 rugby world cup where sportsmanship and respect for each other binded together the white and black population of South Africa during a financial crisis. Wasn't alive to witness the event but saw documentaries on the subject.

It's a great video. I still believe, that this video doesn't do the respectful handling that players show towards each other and the refs justice. You can easily compare such a compilation with a football-respect-compilation. What happens in rugby on a daily basis and what is required from players in terms of respect is on the other hand so rare in football. It still warms my heart to see all these gentle giants.

I love this game!!!

For a rugby player, children are more important than the grââl. To be a rugbyman is a way of live, not simply a sport.
