You should have added the Blues player ramming his shoulder into the hurricanes players back while on the ground. Dont know how that wasn't minimum a yellow.

Australasian refs are probably the worst in the world. Hard to understand why. You'd think it would be the opposite.

I hope this guy is not going to ref in the world cup, there is no way that first try could be given. If that is a try then almost anything goes.

Whilst Berry does make some poor calls from time to time the majority of the calls on this clip were by the TMO and assistant on the side lines

He doesn't make time to time mistakes he does it on a permanently basis. It is literally his job to make bad decisions

To be honest the TMO shouldn't awarded that Hurricanes player a try. Because the Hurricanes player clearly lost separating from his hand to the ball, and he was short of the line. Then he decides to push the ball to the try line which you can't do our else that's called a double movement. Also the Hoskins Soututu try was the correct call. When Hoskins Soututu dive down before he grounded the ball down. As Hoskins was being tackled on the way down short from the try line from Hurricanes Player no.15. Hoskins managed without losing control of the ball, as Hoskins's Soututu had a nice grip of the ball, so he won't drop the ball on the way down. As Hoskins manage to escape out of a tackle, to be able to score a fantastic Blues Try!

I don't mind the decision of the Soututu try, my issue was that the TMO completely checked the wrong thing. He never looked at the potential knock on. So he didn't make use of the right angles. From those 2 angles he did use to check the grounding. I would agree with you, that there probably was not enought ot overturn the on field decision. But I would've liked if the TMO actually focused on that part of the try. The grounding itself, was obviously clear and obvious. But the ref asked him clearly to check for the knock on, not the grounding but then the TMO proceeded to ignore that, and check for the grounding. But yeah, I do think the try would've probably stood, but it's shocking that the ref can't listen to what the ref is asking.

The clean was from the side, and dangerous. He lifted the blue player's leg - what did he think was going to happen when he did that??!!

And more so, how on earth was this just a penalty? Kolbe got yellow carded for something very similar against Ireland. And even that was controversial, as a lot of people said its red card. To me, I wouldn't go as far as to say red card. As the player blocked his own fall. But there is now way, that it's only a penalty.

This WC will give a lot of people heartaches, and it's frustrating already

It should be noted that the onfield referee sees many of the same replays that the TMO does. The onfield referee has the ultimate say and does not have to accept the TMO's point of view on the situation being reviewed.

@@tasanalytics Nic Berry is not a friend (over egging the custard again), he is a fellow referee and as I said in my first post he had the option to make his own decision based on the replays he saw. It is my view that he should have done.

what a mess. As you say the refs ruin games It's about time rugby came home and becomes a players game instead of a watchers game for those who never played the game.

From sbok support...the thing is what i see...all who hated rassie and us sboks starts seeing all these things now,but no one gave rassie credit except our sbok supporters.....rassie fought for sboks bec he cant sit and analises all other games....the biggest thing here is if im correct wr is mostly existing out off northeners....they killed rugby with all these new silly laws and cards 13,14 vs 15 men..these silly non dangerous stuff carded like intercepts failed all these cards on goal line you cant prevent oponents to score in the past you prevent it anyhow and that was rugby...to much other stuff also the scew input in scrums...tackles that isnt dangerious but carded.....many people like myself step away from rugby where rugby was everything i only watch few games if my team play (sboks)the rest i dont care anymore...what i also want to say about this is the referees doesnt know what to do and cant intriprit all these rules...also its as if they can deside who must win in close games and no one know what happenned....also it feelslike the north change the game with rules to compete with south.......doesnt matter what any say 2022 was a desaster against the sboks its like they planned it.....but my main thing here its getting worce and worce and rules change and new coming and so rugby is dying,its not rugby anymore its up to wr who must win and these prevent injury stuff is all bull$#@..t,old day there wasnt more injurys then today...its all crap,to gave a yellow for intercept or slap the ball away isnt to fo with dangerious play,its a useless rule to gave a card for negative play and some intercepts is resl but failed then get carded...many games was won in the past by inderceptions now people are to scared to take a change....many cards given was unneccessarry it was comon play its just hsppenef not on purpose then its yellow or red......its bulls$@@$%..s,and many more....how long did we cried out pls let 15 vs 15 stay on the pitch....and more and more.....

How was that not a yellow card? World rugby are not serious about head contact. They want to lower the tackle height and all such nonsense but clear-tip they let slide. There is no excuse for lifting a player's legs higher than his head, non what so ever. Anybody that tries to justify picking a player's legs up while his head is dropping is plain insanity. World rugby should get their house in order.

Nic Berry is bad for rugby.

Nick Barry will again get an reward in Australia for best referee..Nic will cost teams games in how he handle games.He cannot make decisions by himself.Nic Barry should not be given any game to handle in the world cup.

Players get red carded and suspended for mistakes, this guy gets protection for mistakes. To tip, somebody is dangerous and to downplay it as just a mistake is a joke.
