Ruffwear is one of the most popular dog brands out there with their full line of dog gear and clothing. Some of the best dog harnesses on the market are made by Ruffwear and today we're going to show you the differences between their three most popular dog harnesses.
Picking out a dog harness and getting it sized correctly is one of the most important aspects of using one instead of just a collar. Today we'll walk you thru three dog harnesses from Ruffwear; the Ruffwear Hi & Light, Front Range and Web Master Harnesses. We'll start the video by showing you the differences between each harness and then we'll show you how they fit on Angel. Keep in mind that this is a comparison of not only the harnesses, but the sizing that Ruffwear goes by and in our case the XXS size.

I have been using both the Front Range and Hi and Lite on my 2 small dogs (3.2kg - xxs in Front Range and xxxs in Hi and Lite and 5.3Kg- xs in Front Range and xxs in Hi and Lite) for more than 6 years now. They are absolutely excellent harnesses and just won’t wear out even though they are used twice a day, every day and washed often. I am not sure which I prefer, they both fit great and my dogs tend to wear the Front range in colder weather and the Hi and lite in hot weather. I watched the video carefully and am concerned that the demonstrator was not adjusting the straps correctly. It can be a little confusing to get used to initially but they all adjust to much bigger openings and longer straps if adjusted properly. I highly recommend both these products for small dogs and have friends with large dogs that use and just love the Front Range as well.

The ruffwear site says if your dog is on the cusp between two sizes go with the larger - i think you should have xs instead of xxs. You would have a proper fit with the front range if you did. I think most of your issues would be solved by buying the proper size. I have a poodle (27" chest) the front range extends back and theres no extra material but his chest is so narrow the webmaster and hi and light obstruct his movement less than the front range.

Great review of the various models. Be advised, the Front Range harness can absolutely be slipped out of. My Border Terrier escaped one far too easily. GREAT harness, but beware. This time I'll be chooseing a Flagline or Webmaster for the extra security.

Thank you for that I won’t get one for my terrier x dachshund then, do you think it’s just a small dog thing or is it a general hazard in your opinion, because I am looking for a first harness for my Greek shepherd rescue dog and I can’t risk her getting out of one but i think 3 straps would be too much for her having never worn one before.

Unfortunately there is a lot of false information in this video. This dog is absolutely not a medium high&light. You need to properly size each harness to your dog. Yes, each style is a little different as each have a different purpose. The Webmaster has a bottom/chest length strap for your issue. It moves it front or back. Please do research before attempting a review.

It doesn't look like you have the straps fully extended on the hi and light

My thoughts exactly...I have the same one and made that mistake when I initially put it on my dog.

Might fit better in XS I have a 4 month Border terrier weighing about 13lb with 17" chest and looks very similar in size the XS in the front range fits perfectly..

If you had the correct size the harness would fit correctly.

I think she’s an XS instead of XXS. My dog is the same weight and chest girth and he wears an XS

I have the front range harness. Yours is not fitted properly. It doesn't bunch up with adequate fitting and doesn't scrap the underarms. Also, the dog can actually escape from it so be careful.

9:44 I stopped from watching this video when I watch the guy didn’t pull the straps. I can’t trust in someone not knowing how to use them and unfortunately yes your dog easily can slip from the hi & light harness.

Looks too tight under her arms.

The Front Range harness has been a great one for her. She grew into it quite well to where it is maxed out now on the adjustments when her hair is long and when we shave her down, we can still have some adjustment to tighten it down a bit to fit her more snug. It does look tight under her arms, but that's just how these sit under their arm pits and I always check to see if its tight in there and it really isn't, it just looks like it is....Thanks for watching...Wuff!
