I know people are really hung up on Jules cheating with Elliot, but im *still* not over the fact that Jules took that trip to her hometown and slept with that one girl (Sam I think?), knowing fully well how much it was affecting Rue and then lowkey rubbing it in her face. She says "I love you", but from the start she always prioritized her own feelings and needs. It almost felt at times like Rue was forcibly pulled into an open relationship, even though she obviously wanted to be exclusive because she craved the stability that Jules brought into her life when they first met. She is a selfish, impulsive, and immature person....I guess that's one part of the teenage experience the show managed to get right.

I mean to be fair, Rue wasn't an ideal friend/girlfriend either. She promised not to take drugs and yet she lied and made Jules worry again and again. But Rue didn't deserve to be cheated on and abandoned like that. It's so much worse. And that's why IMHO Jules x Rue doesn't work. because the former needs like freedom and variety in her life while Rue needs stability and peace. Rue just can't catch up with Jules and Jules doesn't like staying in the same place. At least for now that's how it is. They scarcely properly discussed their relationship and the issues in it. Maybe once Rue gets better treatment and heals, and they realize one another's faults, they can work something out. I wouldn't mind if they stayed friends. But otoh every time they look at each other, they might be reminded of their worst and lowest moments, so perhaps it's best if they're apart. also I agree with everything you said but Jules cheated with the girl named Anna but the name doesn't matter. what matters is Jules still haven't apologized. wonder if she regrets it in the first place

Breaking up with Jules for good was a HUGE step for Rue and I'm so proud of her for doing that, she needs to figure herself out and get herself together before Rue can love someone else she needs to learn to love herself first

The thing I love about this show is there isn't any "coming out" as queer or non-monogamous. As a polyamorous person, I thought the flow from duo-to-trio was very reminiscent of relationships I've had. Imo, Elliot, Jules and Rue were in a non-monogamous "thing." I don't really think either of them have anything to apologize for, in fact, I think both of them are better walking away from this relationship.

Wanting them back together will be just a personal end to anyone who do. Their relationship is promising and we've been attached to it. But we should realize that their relationship, its so toxic. If you're not just the reader of the story instead being in the position of the character, hope y'all realize how sickening it is. Jules has a real problem with commitment, since season 1 it hasn’t been addressed. Their relationship won’t work not because she’s too dependent on Jules but because they don’t talk about the real stuff the things that matters.

Jules cheated on her like 2 times.

She says "I love you" like that is going to change anything she did. Girl, that isn't a bargaining card. Act like you love her then? Maybe actually prove and show it to Rue. Oh wait, but she can't anymore, because Jules took and she took and she never gave back. She was good for Rue at a stage but she could never look past her own nose and see that Rue needed her and fell so hard because she wasn't there for her.

In high school, nothing lasts forever...

Honestly Jules was wrong for cheating on rue and I liked them better as friends than being in a relationship. I wasn’t too mad that Jules told Rue’s mom about being on drugs cause she was worried, but had no idea that flush the entire suitcase of drugs was gonna put Rue and her family in danger.

And that's why I don't like Rue and Jules together. I like them... just not together. Jules was just expecting them to just be fine after no apology or talking about what was said. 🤦‍♀️ I'm glad Rue has broken the codependency this relationship is. Jules needs to find what she wants and WHO she is. And forgive her mom, if that's at all possible. Rue... well, Rue needs to be on her own and find peace within HERSELF.

It’s only the second season. Some things fall apart only to come back together in the end. Rue was putting her sobriety first. We have no way of knowing when the narrative is taking place. Euphoria winds and weaves. There’s no telling where this is headed.

I personally feel if/when season 3 happens we will see them attract one another again, the rumours are that the next season will have a time skip and maybe as adults they’ll have a better shot, love is hard as it is without the two people in it being riddled with issues and baggage.

Learning when to walk away before destruction shows discipline and courage.

This isn’t the end. I hope that in the future they can find a way to be together but they both need to make themselves whole first, they’re both too broken at the moment: Jules needs to be able to understand and accept herself and Rue needs to be able to stand alone and be able to fight her demons. The love they shared was beautiful but not at the cost the mental damage inflicted. This isn’t a No, this is a not right now.

I hope they'll still be friends in the next series ❤

I hate how they made them break up by putting a one dimensional man into their relationship, so i hope Sam Levinson hires more writers and they fix it

Their relationship was toxic from the start. Even in season one. Listen, I dislike Elliot as much as the next person, but neither one of them were good for each other. Elliot was just the final straw (and wasn't the primary reason for their strife/breakup, but he was a part of it). I hope they can mend their friendship, but I would much rather see Rue on a self-recovery path and Jules learn to love herself without needing to be loved

I like how she didn’t say a word but it meant like a thousand. But I rly wish she would’ve apologized for not what she said, but how she put it. But Jules didn’t even apologize either so, Ig saying nothing and kissing her goodbye was clear enough. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Regarding the situation with Ana, Jules and Rue weren't in a relationship at that time. And I think that was a telling moment for Rue that Jules wouldn't be satisfied with just one person. Jules didn't say it, but she showed it. Also, I can't blame Jules for the trip. She is not responsible for Rue's mood and well-being. Nobody is. Well, okay, maybe her mom, to a certain extent. But certainly not another teenager.

yeah um it’s still fucked up that jules tried to manipulate rue by saying “i love you” to her as she leaves on the train to go fuck someone else. Rue clearly told her she just wanted them to stay but jules put her own feelings and needs first.

It's so weird how everyone villainizes Jules for cheating and telling Rue's mom about her drugs but gives Rue a pass for lying and gaslighting Jules and intentionally hurting her to cover for her own issues. Is that fair? They shouldn't be together, but the one-sidedness is stupid. Rue isn't just some victim. She played an active role in the destruction of all the relationships in her life. Like Ali said to Gia, it's okay to be mad at her. It doesn't help to baby her at every step, which is why her mom said what she said about saving Gia, and letting Rue self-destruct if she so chooses.

the difference is between those situations is that rue is seriously troubled everybody knows that she is who she is....a drug accidt she's sick .but jules it was out of character and unnecessary for her to cheat and leave rue on the middle of the road high by herself already knowing she relapsed...even when she admitted that she did so Jules still went out her to hurt her knowing the affects what that could do to a person like rue not only that but she brought alcohol around her relapsed girlfriend not caring what's so ever

She injected hormones, nate got angry at the party and said to her "I know what you really are". Jules fucked Nates dad, who is gay and only fucks trans people or cis males. Then there's the entire backstory where she is younger and shown to be a little boy. And then in jules special episode she talks a loottt about being trans during therapy. I feel like they couldn't have been more obvious with it

For me personally, I really hope Rue and Jules reconcile in season three and I get it rue may need some time to find yourself which is totally understandable, and hopefully Jules can accept that, but I mean they’re really perfect and not perfect for each other which makes it all more worthwhile for them to get back together so they can work out each other’s flaws I also get it that Rue is very flawed and not a perfect person but then again Jules is not a perfect person either because Jules has cheated on I mean, that’s just rue two times in the story and that’s just because it didn’t really define their relationship at that point either we don’t want to be serious or we want to be open or we want to be serious and we don’t want to be open. Unfortunately they were open which kind of made the break up even worse for fans, but that’s the thing Hunter said like a Q&A in December 22 Jules will probably try to find a way to have a relationship with rue in season three did rue do the right thing by not saying anything to Jules during that moment and just kissing you’re on the forehead kind of for me personally not really because that scene just leaves up interpretations for season three so hopefully I hope that they get back together and try to reconcile through what happened

People who don’t want help or to be saved cannot be saved, it’s not a matter of having to try hard to make someone come out of addiction, it’s the same as leading a horse to water. You can give them all the support and love they could ever want or need, all the resources and financial support to get clean, but you can’t make them get clean if they don’t want to. Rue needs a harsh wake up call to commit to getting and staying clean. Jules has a problem with trying to make Rue her charity project, taking “I can fix her” and making things worse in her efforts. Jules is a cheater because she doesn’t love herself and can’t possibly give love to someone else. What they had wasn’t love it was just lust. Jules wanted to fix Rue and make her ideal for her in a sense, someone who doesn’t care about what she does, I.e. sleeping with other people, but is there for her all the time. Rue needs time to find herself and love herself, and get better on her own instead of people trying to do it for her.

Their issues aren't only Jules' fault. Rue's depency on Jules to stay clean was TOXIC from the very beginning. That wasn't either of their fault per say, but Rue relapsed because Jules left. That is not Jules' fault. She's a person, not a life raft. One of the only bad things she did was fool around with Elliot but their relationship was just as toxic before Elliot was part of the picture.

I kinda feel the same but as much as they are so alike, I don't think it will be a healthy relationship given that none of them can cancel each others' weaknesses and gain anything good. It will be very stagnant infact. But I definitely think that Nate can relate and sympathize more with Jules more than he can with Maddy or Cassie.
