He never met her, but he did HEAR her in Windport. If he hadn't gotten the demon eye and holed himself up in his room at the inn for a week trying to get used to it, he might have met her back then.

When they say 'king class', that's part of the magic rating system, not because Roxy met a king. It goes Beginner, intermediate, then advanced. And from there it drops off big time, and goes to Saint class, then King, then Emperor, then finally God-tier. Remember, Roxy's final lesson was for Rudy's Saint class water magic, and why she went adventuring again was she saw how fast he was catching up to her and needed to work on her own magic skills. This is a subtle point that she's made King class now, she's been doing her own off-camera thing.

Rudy and elinalise's friendship is wholesome and might be my favorite thing in this arc .

I noticed Elinalise suddenly stopped going after Rudy and made the excuses that it was to not be Paul’s daughter in law or to upset Roxy after she saw Sylphie’s pendent. She had one of her own. That pendent has significance beyond a simple birthday gift.

She leaves a pendant like that with her children to give to any kids they might have so that she doesn't end up sleeping with her own descendants down the line. And if you're thinking "why doesn't she just stay with her kids" then that has an explanation too, but I won't spoil it here.

That dragon was a straggler, which is what dragons that get separated from the flock are called. Red dragons can't reach full flight from flat ground, they need to jump of a cliff or something for that. Which is the reason they only live in the mountains. When a (usually young and foolish) dragon flies too far away or lands in the plains it can't fly back to the mountains. Even without being able to fly they are an A+ rank threat and require a large subjugation squad and careful planning to defeat. Which makes it all the more impressive that Rudy defeated it almost completely solo and without preparation.

Yeah, but too bad it was flying in the anime. I mean, a flying dragon is cool, but it breaks the book's explanation a bit. I guess we have to live with the fact that dragons in the anime differ from dragons in the books. Like healing in the books requires touching the wounded spot, while you can heal at a distance in the anime.

@@kaguya6900 Detoxification is explicitly stated to require physical contact in the book. Healing was already something from the first episode that didn't require contact, but was cast in proximity. It could show the healer's skill if they can heal at a distance.

@@Tounushi Vol 7, just after he rescues Sara from the Treant. "Healing required direct skin contact, so I had to remove her shirt and pants and to press my hand to the appropriate places." In the books, healing requires that you to touch the area.

I don't think he can only talk to Rudy. That dude that wiped their party in Turning Point 2, Orsted I think his name was, referred to him as 'one of the man god's servants', so clearly he can talk to others. And the fact that recognizing the man-god caused Orsted to immediately go hostile likely means there's some kinds of beef there. I guess we'll find out more as the series develops. This man-god is slicker than a used car salesman, though. Every time he's given advise, he's been technically correct, but very misleading, and generally costs him a missed opportunity in some way. For example, he got his demon eye as a result from following the man-god's advise, but he missed running into Roxy as a result. Dude is sus as hell.

This is the second time the author uses the hero's journey plot structure

I haven't read the novels, but from what I hear, that's basically his preferred attack style: quagmire to CC, then start chucking rocks until everything is unalived. It's effective, it's efficient... but it's not flashy in the slightest. So *every time* those bards are telling stories about the Exploits of the Great Quagmire Rudeus, _every... damn... story..._ is just "He got them stuck in mud and dropped big rocks on them. The End." That's why the guys were complaining and saying they wanted a more entertaining story; they wanted better special effects, something with huge nuclear fireballs and high-pressure water jets and *exuplooosions* not just, "oi, ya big ol dragon! Imma throw a rock at ya! [Throws Boulder] Ya, that'll learn ya a thing 'er two! Ya dumb cunt lizard!"

Cliff (OVA Episode) Zanoba (Statue obessed Prince) Minitona Dedoldia and Tersena Adoldia (The beast kids that Rudeas and Rujird rescued and that Eris trained in the beast village.) I think the girl with black hair looking out of the window was Nananoshi (The girl with Orsted in episode 21 of the first season) This is a guess though because I'm anime only.

True. I was anime only up until the previous episode, but I checked out the light novels, got hooked, and am now starting book 18. I can definitely see how there’s quite a bit of context that is left slightly unclear compared to the explicit detailing the books do. I look forward to seeing how the rest of the season is adapted.

I don't think the Man God had anything to do with Rudy's ed and it is all psychological. However, Man God is exploiting it for his own means. Man God never said that he would personally heal Rudy's problem if he went to school. He specifically said that studying the teleportation incident would bring back his potency AND PRIDE. He emphasized the word 'pride' like a mf. Yea, it was funny, but this show has proven to have double meanings behind a lot of what people say. Imo, discovering the truth behind what caused it is what's going to get Rudy's confidence (and other things) back up.
