It is what it is. If they stick to it too closely it will end up like tensura where it feels dragged out and boring cuz it just doesn't translate well into anime. People were already complaining about the slice of life ranoa stuff imagine dragging it out even more just to fit in more details. They clearly just want to get the key points of the arcs done. Honestly I feel like at this pace they could finish the series in like season 5

I never read the manga, so I don't know all of what's missing, but keeping things flowing from important point to important point without it being at a breakneck pace is important. Too fast and you get whiplash. Too slow and the story never ends.
