Remember when the haters were claiming that Rudy doesn't develop as a character? I do! And I'll never forget their INSANELY hateful attacks towards people who actually read the entire source material (like me), who calmly tried to explain to them, that they were wrong, and that Rudy does in fact get character developement. It's just a slow story, that's not written for impatient children, so the character developement doesn't happen in a single episode.

@@DreadedLad88 While most of the people who screamed so much about this story were indeed just unknowledgable (or in many cases only had seen some random clips from the show!), that is not the case for ALL of them. There were quite the number of seasoned anime viewers or people FAR beyond the teen age, who made quite some sophisticated arguments against MT. The problem is, that they literally left out ALL the context of most of the scenes they complained about or they straight-up deliberately(!) misinterpreted some of the more problematic scenes of the story solely for the purpose of presenting MT as the most horrible, disgusting story ever. They left out all the context and acted like these scenes were only there for fanservice, when most of them ACTUALLY had a clear purpose for the narrative. Too bad for them, though, that this time has conclusively passed now! MT will still have some controversial elements in it, sure, but the insane claims, they've been making (you know which ones!) will have no ground to stand on anymore.

Rudeus has the most insane character development.

This episode is quite wholesome seeing Rudy regain his confidence and then propose to Slyphy. I really hope this happiness will last for a while, but, seeing how it went in the past, I won't hold my breath for it.

At the beginning of the episode you can notice that Rudy cut the part of the bed sheet that Sylphie bled when lsoing her virginity and put it into the box that he then placed right next to the "holy" relic of Roxy Also, Rudeus is definitely considered a gentleman compared to most nobles and royals of the world. You don't wanna know what princess Ariel and Luke have done in their past. It even makes baby/very young Rudy (the morally worst period of Rudy) look like an angel. He's pretty down to earth compared to other high society people. And his progression is very clear. He's by any means comparable to how he was in the first epsiodes of season 1 cour 1. Also, while it might seem strange and bad to us, polygamy is not unusual for nobles and royals in the world Rudeus is, and even in our world during the ancient period and even middle ages. So even if he gets multiple wives, it wouldn't be strange.

Fun fact In the credits of this episode, Sylphie is listed as "Sylphette Grayrat" Before this episode she was listed as "FItz" (S2 episode 1~10) or "Sylphiette" (S2 11~12, which is when Rudeus found out her identity)

Either the production is pre-empting by an episode or Ariel has given her the name Greyrat even before her marriage to Rudeus. Either way, she's a noble now.

@@juusovuolle8251 nobility is an issue of caste and rights, rather than direct inheritance of titles or property. Otherwise he wouldn't even have a surname. If Rudeus pressed the issue and won the conflict, he could take the title of family head from Pilemon and lordship over one of the four great regions of Asura. Even if a nobleman is materially poorer than a commoner, he'd still have more rights than a commoner, should he just have the opportunity to exercise them.

Yep, out of the 26 LNs I would say 10 of them are majority non action. I like it this way, makes action feel more tense when we do get it.

@@sankro MT's big fights are some of the most thrilling I have ever read in a story. They are so interesting, because you know what is at stake. That is because the story actually gives itself the time it needs to flesh out the world and characters and build up their relationships. So, when people's lives are under threat, you, as a reader, ACTUALLY care. Moreover, the fact, that BIG fights don't happen in MT all the time, lets you know its different than in typical shounen battle shows, because in these shows the audience already knows, that it's all about the spectacle and that there are no real stakes and nobody's gonna die, etc. With MT, it's different. The fights matter, because they aren't the author's default solution to keep the audience engaged; they are REAL and have ACTUAL consequences!

@@petermuller9480 That plus the fights don't drag on longer than they should, with all kinds of internal monologue and shit. It's straight to the point for the most part. Turning Point 2, for example, the Ruijerd vs Orsted bit plays out pretty much exactly as it does in the LN, and lasts for roughly the 10 seconds it says it does (not counting the short slow motion bit), and the last couple hits Orsted lands on Ruijerd are also the same as in the LN.

Yeah, because it's about character development not only action every episode, i like seeing more anime chill this way cz we can see every character in MT develop. Only haters that want every eps of MT always had fight scene. It's funny if they like fight scene in MT but they don't like see rudeus development Sorry if my english bad:)

Rudy first left her as a kid (which destroyed her for several months they mentioned last season) then the mana incident happened and she separated from her Rudy and her family. Just to find out that both her parents died. All she had since was Ariel and Luke

Sylphie went Yandere mode on Paul when she saw him load Rudy into the wagon. She is not all there mentally. She also says that she has no qualms about killing if the situation calls for it.

Season 3 all the girls die horribly. And rudeus becomes a terrible person. It's pretty dark not gonna lie.

I wonder how far into the ln this core will go. If what im thinking comes to pass i hope they dont leave that storyline on a cliffhanger.

my only two complaints about MT is that Rudious is physicall incapable of staying loyal to Sylphy which I found was pretty disheartening after all the time we spent with the two characters and then finally ending up in a marriage. And the manner which the sword god loses against inexpirienced fighter who has never left their home felt so incredibly stupid it still baffles me to this day.

Big spoiler: Watched your s2e12 vid and yes he gets multiple wives as the worlds culture admitts polygamy. Eris isnt his 2nd wife though, he meets her again much later on, his second wife he 'worships'.

First, this is a fantasy medieval setting, you have to look at it just like shows like Game Of Thrones/House Of The Dragon. Now within this context Rudy and Eris were as good as betrothed to eachother at a young age by their aristocratic parents/uncles/aunts. Second, the original life of Rudy was that of a socially underdeveloped NEET/Hikokimori, basically a shut in. The guy may have been 34 in body, but in mind he was still basically a teenager. Due to trauma no less. I can't deny the guy a second chance at this shit. People just hated on Rudy without getting the backstory, which they clearly didn't relate with. You have to get out of the modern way of thinking for settings like this in the first place, or just stay away from medieval settings both historical and fictional in your entertainment.

rudeus is a ladies man in this world
