At least the the Rubik’s 3 by 3 cube that’s a mix between GAN and Rubiks is pretty good. I like to have a Rubik’s cube that turns well and also still looks like a real Rubik’s cube

I have a transparent version of that old 2x2 with the same mechanism (i think it was called the "rubik's ice cube" or something) it has a hidden screw underneath a sticker, so it's actually possible to assemble without bending the plastic

it's really hard to tell which corner has the screw, because it looks the same as the others, but for me it's the orange/green/blue one, with the screw under the blue sticker

Actually tough tiles do fade. I had an old rubiks cube lying around and some white tiles have turned yellow, so sometimes it's hard to differentiate

Lol my old Rubik’s brand did the same thing it was so hard to put together and once i did there was literally no way of puting the last piece in so i trierd then broke the piece and then i bought a yuxin little magic and i was amazed 🤯 fliping turns like a beast

I have a 2x2 similar to this one complete with the same label, worn a bit to the point where red and orange have become the same color, only difference being it doesn't pop, it's just stiff as all hell and will lock up a million times and will require all your hand strength at once just to do 45° worth of a turn. Thank god I got a modern stickerless.

I Used To Main A Rubik's 2x2, Not The One You Showed. A Newer Better One, And It Was Pretty Good. The Cornercutting Was Abysmal, But It Was Fast. It Was Good.

I've had the same thing with one of those old rubik 2x2s as a kid. I don't remember why it was taken apart but I either gave up on trying to put it back together or I broke it in the process

speedcubers made "knockoffs" better than the original product that's unbelievable mate

I’d actually get a 2x2 from a speedcubing brand with the Rubik’s-style of corner. Because I do actually like the style of them.

I so feel you with cube explosions. I had it happen once with a 4x4 that had tiles on it instead of stickers and moved faster than any 4x4 I have had before and after that. I was in the middle of a solve, I think I was on the last layer and it suddenly just fell apart into pieces and I couldn't figure out how to reassemble the 4x4 and neither could my dad, so it ended up being thrown into the trash in a ziplock bag. And my non-Rubik's 4x4 that I still have, it regularly has 1 back piece pop off, again on the last layer, usually as a result of a slight misalignment. It's frustrating when I have to reassemble in the middle of solving the cube.

I love your rubik's stories do more of them!

I have always found solving white and yellow sooo much more enjoyable and relaxing when they are adjacent B-)

I actually have that old Rubik's 2x2 and can confirm that it falls apart regularly. While its not as hard to get back together and the plastic didn't seem to wear too much its still just a "Please for the love of god don't touch it" thing on the shelf.

We just need a review of the Rubik's 5x5 now lmaooo
