a little OC & voltage tweak can make a huge difference - I always OC my cards, my 1080Ti was running 2100 on the core for 7yrs (still works too) and that's what helped it last so long for me. Now my 4070Ti Super is about 2980 on the core and 10701 on the memory - I still plan to track down a FC waterblock for it too (Alphacool makes one).

This is great, you use the exact target of undervolt settings I do so thanks a million for that! Do you have any plans to do the same for the 4060, it'd be great to see how that already efficient card undervolts as well.

The max undervolt is determined by the curve per se, which for an RTX 3060 lineup is at 0.7V. In other words, the max _(in terms of min voltage and sa ving power, that is)_ you can go down is 0.7V. But as for the frequency - it depends on the silicon lottery. Most chips _(at least the ones I tweaked)_ will go for at least 1550MHz at that voltage. Some go higher than that, but not too much - around 1600-1650MHz. I usually leave _(as a curve preset)_ an absolute minumum _(for lowest temps/TDP available),_ the average "gaming" preset _(undervolted, but with beefy MHz - yet w/o any PerfCap restrictions under 100% load),_ and a bench preset, with highest _(frequency to voltage under TDP)_ combo, unstable for 24/7 - just for getting high scores. Started undervolting CPU's/GPU's long ago. Pity it hasn't beccme apparent to me even earlier. Don't know about other fellas out there, but I'd without any hesitation take 90% of the fps for the 40% of the _(stock)_ TDP and 60% of the _(stock)_ temps any day of the week.

​ Well I chose a 3060 Ti over 3060 2 years back and 2 be fair no need of OC its a beast despite lack of VRAM. Sad part is ita a strict 1080p card. So stuck with 24 inch 1080p monitor. The performance 3060 Ti gives at 1080p is even today superior to RTx 3060 OCd.

My 2070 super already overclocked out the box so not much room for overclocking. So I'll do reference clock instead.

Yeah it is safe if you maintain temperature. Otherwise undervolting is my recommendation.
