I run the AR-500 Veritas carrier with the multi curve level 3 plates with the extra spall coating and the absorbant concusion material behind those. I'd rather run steel plates and get used to the weight than ceramics that expire and many won't penetrate, but still leave concusions enough to severly harm your insides and break bones. "It didn't go through! But look at that buldge it left behind!" I've shot expired ceramics with Muzzy Bone Breaker broadheads with a bow, and they will go through when a rifle round wouldn't! Steel is the way to go!!!

@@ToolsandTargets I would prefer titanium with foam backing... or an invisibility cloak. Mostly, I prefer not to be there than to hope they will hit a square foot on my chest. Given my target is the right kidney, body armor would not help you.

@@JohnLloydScharf the entire point of body armor is to protect the one square foot section of your body that if perforated, you’ll most likely die bruh you can be a quadriplegic but you can’t survive loosing your chest cavity. Get hit in the face well just gotta tip your hat 😂

Fun fact: AR500 makes all these plates, but sends them to other companies for distribution and their own coatings. AR500 is the largest MFG of steel plates and many other protective steel products. Read the back of each one, and they are all made in NV. Each company does have their carriers made to their standards, but are made in China. RTS does have some of the best bundle packages IMO, even though I run AR500 products.

You could try .xm193, .243, 6.5 creed, .270, 30.06 ap, 300 wm and 7mm rem mag. but i'm sure the sponsors wont appreciate those last two... you could try a 20 inch or 24 inch barrel on the m855 too, for when you are ready to test to failure, since it did quite well so far... It’s really interesting that the 30-06 did the most damage and didn’t even poke a hole in it. Well that means you should look into getting some black tip 30-06. Black tip 30-06 is a armor piercing round, so you should definitely try that next if you can get some.

If this were 2x4 feet, it would be great to use as cover. Maybe if it said "Shoot Here" you could reduce it. Criminals are not always intelligent. The problem we had with body armor, which claimed to be stab resistant, was it restricted movement. I intend to be a moving target the moment I leave my home. If you think it difficult to conceal carry firearms, try steel body armor. Every defensive move you make will be telegraphed. Ballistic armor clipboards make more sense.
