    What I like about RTE is that they're actually talking about the game, and not getting Alan Shearer to describe what everyone can see in front of their fucking faces in the action replays. I wish we could get this in the UK, as it pisses on the BBC and ITV dickheads.

    Such refreshing honesty & levelheadedness compared to the bile from the English punditry. Some of the more sickening quotes from the World Cup;"theres isnt 1 team England wont be able to beat"(Talksports),"England have the talent on paper to beat Germany7-0"(5 live),"Germany don't have one player good enough to get into Englands team"(various). Best gem of all-Alan Shearer-"if I had a choice of all the players in the World I honestly wouldn't be sure which England players I would take out."LOOOL

    Kevin Keagan's famous last words before this game on ITV - "I'm going with 5-1 England. We will be too strong for them". Gerrard after the game against Algeria last night - "this was their world cup final tonight" & Rooney last Weds "missing a few players we should still beat Algeria". The arrogance is incredible. Where does it come from?

    When were Spain worse than England? They had tough opponents at Euro 2004 and World Cup 2006. A solid defence is not good enough, you need some skilful players in midfield and attack.

    I don't know why it's so hard for Greame to accept Inter were the best side in europe. They by far had the most difficult route to the final. Outfought Chelsea in both legs, completely outclassed Barca in their first leg and beat Bayern comfortably in the final. Most notably, all those teams were Champions of their domestic leagues.

    Exactly! I agree 100% Spain have always played stylish technical football on the grass. They just needed to find the right frame of mind and winning mentality. England on the other hnd have played physical long ball football since 1990. In 1990 they had skillful players like Gascoigne, Waddle, Beardsley and Barnes who could do things with the ball. Lampard and Gerrard are just power players with a good engine. They don't have the guile or skill needed to break down a defence.

    England not on the same level as Brazil and Italy? I might agree with Germany at the moment. But Capello(who is Italian and a top manager) was tactically inept during the world cup and traveled with threadbare squad to South Africa. Harry Redknapp would have done a much better job. The only reason why Brazil has 5 world cups is because football is by far the most popular sport in amongst 400 million people. If England had 400 million then we would have 9 world cups.

    The English style is too impatient, if you look at the way they play they rush the ball up to the strikers ASAP, the Spanish on the other hand keep the ball and wait for the chance, very patient with the ball.

  • @vlnakajr2346
    @vlnakajr23464 ай бұрын

    England were really not as bad in this game as this Irish broadcast is making out lol. They didn't get a win because Rob Green made a horrible error. Tim Howard was MOTM in this game because England created decent chances which he saved. Gerrard was good in this match. He scored a great goal. He covered for his defense alone from midfield because Lampard was playing goal hang all game leaving him solo in midfield. I agree Capello's tactics of hoof ball were poor but the players followed his instructions to kick it long to Heskey. This 2010 WC squad wasn't even that talented. They had 5 great players and everyone else was just pretty bad fit around those 5 and Capello never found the right fit, he was truly horrible for them.

  • @EricCartman1st
    @EricCartman1st12 жыл бұрын

    with the 2 finalists coming from our group we never really had a prayer at the Euros , only 14 teams qualified, for a tiny country its not bad , and if tossers call our Rugby side world class after they lose by 60 - 0 id say decent isnt to much of an overstatement .

    I know , just today on sky sports they said Gerrard had a not average , not good , but a fantastic tournament , he was ok at best vrs France , put in a cross against Sweden , and was rubbish in the first half against Ukraine , he got a lesson from an old man in Pirlo , and the English fans are still under the impression he is world class , its no coincidence that Liverpools football has got to shit since they lost Alonso , Spain could field six midfielders and they are all better than Gerrard

  • @EricCartman1st
    @EricCartman1st12 жыл бұрын

    They won the world cup a couple of years ago , and they never had poor players it was an intense political situation that created a void between the Barca and mainland players , Del Bosgue got them to put that stuff aside , their team now is a result of a 20yr plan , a system only works if you are bringing through players good enough to play in it , England,s defending was not the best in the tournament Spain,s was , you still don,t get it, nobody can score against you if you have the ball .

  • @bighands69
    @bighands6913 жыл бұрын

    The truth is that British football has been in decline for the last 30 years. It is now at the point were a youngster does not know how to control or pass the ball all they do is rush the other end of the pitch as fast as they can. Could you ever imagine england or scotland or ireland playing like spain or brazil. It is an impossible. There is only one player on the England team if he is fit that could play for spain and that is Rio because he can pass the ball as a defender.

    Spain were worse than England a couple of years ago. It was when their coaching system changed they became the best in the world. If Spain can have that success,why can't England? Englands defending was by far the best in the world at the Euro's 2012. If our attacking was half decent we would have won the cup.

  • @ashleythomas4112

    Absolute fucking bollocks was England's defending the best in the world at Euro 2012. England conceded 3 goals in 3 three group games, which should've been four because Ukraine's equaliser was wrongly ruled out and were very lucky not to concede several against Italy in the quarter final. Spain only conceded 1 goal in the entire tournament, they had the best defence at Euro 2012.

    Not just Gerrard but Frank Lampard as well. The EPL is the most overrated league in the world it produces very poor players and the standard of football is brutal. Franz Beckenbauer said that British football is all about rush and kick and he is right watch a EPL game that does not involve Utd or Arsenal and all the teams do is rush from one end of the field to the other with lots of dirty tackles.

    England are a team who breeze through the qualifications, get into a very easy group, get carried away with their media, their '1966' propaganda and make all sorts of noise about their overrated, overpriced players. When it comes to the finals, they narrowly make it past the group stage and 2nd round and into the QFs, they face a Spain, Brazil, France, Argentina, Portugal, Netherlands or a Germany and end up getting raped. Same old, same old. Flops they always were, flops they always will be.
