If my science eduation serves me correctly, rubber will keep vulcinating until it is essentially a powder. If you leave it on the drive plate for too long, it will create "lobes" or create a "memory position" Lets find out if a silicone drive belt is in the works. Awesome video. The concept is sound, but the gear plate gears have surved us for decades. Great content. Drive it like you stole it and keep the solid rivets as close to the track as you can.

I have many tools and other products from RT-HO and am very happy with all the products I have gotten from them. I consider them to to be high quality products with excellent design, engineering, and manufacturing. The customer service has aslo been excellent in my experience. So, in general, I consider RT-HO to be a very innovative and respectable company which I am more than happy to support, and am grateful to have the excellent products I have received from them. That being said, I cant help but have serious doubts about this specific product. The "drive belt" appears to be a standard o-ring. IF that is the case, I cant help but think this drivetrain is not going to be very efficient. I wouldn't doubt that it is smoother, and the weight savings are awesome, but can't help to think that there would be significantly increased drag that would most likely out-way the benefits. I would really like to see an in -depth review of this product and some technical specs from RT-HO about the materials being used, and a dyno comparison of this system versus a well-tuned and well-maintained standard drivetrain. Either way I will probably still pick one up just to try it, and I wouldn't be that surprised if I am totally wrong for doubting it.

Seems like a good idea, but concerns are wouldn't the belt put pressure on armature & cause a pull on armature & making the armature not to be centered ??

I'm surprised that you didn't mention that this is essentially revisiting an older product from the 70s (I think) that did the same thing. The original product used aluminum pulleys, but was otherwise pretty much the same. It never really caught on, but I think with the modern materials we have access to today that the concept should work better, and last longer.

Cant you swap those pullies and increase your ratio to make it faster

You could, but the rear ration you get would be way to much for normal racing. Might work if you have large oval.
