That was an excellent listen, I’m 64 from Manchester and remember as a kid old men relating stories from the British side of the conflict, in particular it being a hellish time not knowing who was going to pull a gun on you anytime.

Very interesting stuff. I'm extremely fascinated by the 1916 rebellion , the war of independence, the civil war and then the troubles 40 or so years later

Historical Irish history that kids were taught in Irish primary schools for the past 150 years is to a very large extent, a British and west brit distortion of reality. The Irish Government, Catholic Church and academia were all complicit in revising the real historical record of Irish history.

Bullshit. Quit slandering your betters with delusional accusations and zero basis. The real historical record. That’s the most meaningless term I’ve ever heard. People experiencing things write letters, call on phones, visit abroad. You’re literally convinced history never happened just because you hate that list of institutions, and see a chance to make up another version, blaming them. We aren’t all stupid. Reality is referencable for verification. Teachers always seem to think indoctrination is the only information you will ever perceive in your life. Truth actually keeps reasserting itself no matter hard you try to lie it away.
Terribly moving especially the recollections of the elderly lady
I came across someone with last name Lawless. Does it have some connection with the Black and Tan ?

Lucy Lawless?
You can tell the historians biases by their intonations and the way the talk, no matter what their viewpoint. Adds an extra fascination to it.

There’s no such thing. You mean you’d like to hear it told according to your own biases so you don’t have to think about how many other ways their are of seeing things in this world.
This is so 1 sided,Pro British for sure!☘🇮🇪🏴☘
Terrorists around the world still don’t understand why certain things are war and others are just senseless destruction, and it’s not based on how just the cause is. Don’t destroy people and things for what their symbolic value is. War is literal.
Fascinating stuff, but was that a fart I heard at 8.08?
Greetings to our Irish Catholic friends, freed from the British yoke and heretical Anglican oppression.
Not real. Don't waste your time.

Just because your eccentric viewpoint hasn’t been given its own documentary, you want us to reject this one.
