RSO joyride

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Out for a drive in our RSO(Raupenschlepper Ost). It has a gasoline powered V8 air cooled engine that drives the rear sprocket. It has a high and low gear range with a four speed transmission. The RSO was specifically designed to meet the transportation needs on the eastern front. Due to the thick mud and bogs it was common for trucks to get stuck in wet weather, the RSO excelled in these conditions.

Those Vehicles were made in the city of „Steyr“ by Steyr Daimler PUCH in Austria 🇦🇹. It’s the next town to my town. When I was young I worked in this company as an electrician in the late Seventies. Greetings from Austria 🇦🇹🏔⛷🛶🍺🥨🌻💪🐺Europa!

You'd think there would be a market for this vehicle today, simple as it is.

Caterpillar or John Deere should adopt and update this design with wider rubber Belt Tracks... Farmers and Rural Folks would love to have a light Tracked Truck like the RSO... and just think what an impact it would make by helping to save our precious Concrete and Asphalt Reserves!!!
