Back some 20 years ago, hatches had these figures that would be considered puny todays and they felt monumental to me. Hammer down, turbo spools up a few seconds later and the push on the back felt Millenium Falcon quick. Today, i seem unable to have fun in anything under 200 bhp accordingly to the media and fanbase. The BRZ is a 200 hp car, NA, stick manual 6, feather light, 2+2 seater, economical and affordable. It get's mocked by nearly everybody. I came to the conclusion that the vast majority of people don't have pleasure driving "just because car" but humiliating other drivers is the real thing apparently. These times are both fun and sad. Sorry for the rant haha

To me the RS3 won even before the race started because 5 cylinders. Thats it. Even if it wasnt 400hp I would still love it because audi had the guts to keep their icon alive, not many companies are willing to do that especially novadays

I like Audi too, but that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If more cylinders = winning, then why is Porsche flat 6 destroying ferrari, Mclaren, etc etc with v8 and v12? There's weight distribution, cam profile, drive system, tires, launch control system, clutches, turbo lag and psi, bore and stroke (displacement), fuel management, etc etc etc etc.

It's actually great to have some variation and to see what do you get with these premium hot hatches in different price brackets. It wasnt meant to be a close race!

Also rs3 in real world driving is so stable and amazing to drive, it has extremely high limit of when you actually feel understeer. My friend Ivan from Testosteeron yt chanel drove rs3 and said that it might only understeer when pushing to the limit on track, but in real world agressive driving it also feels very neutral.

All great cars! Well, certainly the Audi, AMG and Type R! ;) The AMG was my second choice to buy, incidentally. If I wanted a drag car I, of course, wouldn't have bought the Type R but I wanted a drivers car; an all-rounder. An engineering masterpiece by Honda. I'm not interested in having a car that's fastest in a straight line! When would i ever drive like that? I don't. I like a car that handles well and is great around the bends and twisty roads; comfort and practicality. I wanted a car that doesn't look the same as everything else or 'just another hatch/hot-hatch. So happy with my choice and i get so many people commenting, positively, on how it looks. Not bad considering it's looks are so 'divisive'. I wouldn't have received so many comments if i had chosen any of the others. Not that it's about that, of course! :)

J27 I know...that's why I bought an RS. Drivers cars need manual gearboxes. I had a Golf GTi DSG. It was really good but you can't beat the feeling of banging through the gears with a manual gearbox. I couldn't go back to a DSG now.

The issue with FWD is the corners more than the straights, they're extremely prone to understeer but modern torque converters and other tech help a lot

Civic has come a long way, it was pulling on that AMG at the end, pretty impressive for a civic. I think id have the focus RS though

I miss the days of the old S4's and five cylinder demons, when Audi was all about driver involvement and pushing the limits

Honda Type R is FWD, with manual gearbox, and quite significantly less powerful engine than the RS3 and the Benz, but still kept up pretty well. It beats the Focus RS in rolling race? Wow.

RS3 is from another level

In all fairness. The RS3 is in a different class than the rest. They should of used the S3.

Would have been fair to race audi S3 instead of RS3

The Focus RS and Type R don't have an auto box as an option. But I agree the R should have been the DSG one. Any drag race with lots of cars is usually a race between the manuals, and a separate race between the autos.

Mohammed Ismail also since both the civic and the focus come with launch control because manual is the only option for them The r only comes with launch control with the dsg so it's completely unfair for the golf since it also has the least hp

Love them all, I do think they should have done a race without using launch control though just to see how everything done like that

That merc is impressive for its engine size. I fully buy into Audi's beautiful and understated looks.

the 2.5 Audi engine is amazing. Once ive finshed my Project car on my channel. I think im gonna get a TTRS or RS3.

I think the Civic did especially well for having fwd and a 2 litre engine. It did manage to beat the rs in a rolling race. I still think the Audi is a whole different class

Remember when Alfa Romeo wedged a big V6 into a 147 GTA, and VW did the same with a Golf R32? More cylinders made those hot hatches special. Same goes for the RS 3.

Loved the 147 GTA. I currently have 2015 RS3 and FK2 Type R. Both not as good as the latest versions but still great fun. Plan for both when the warranty's are out is to Stage one remap.

Same, the Golf R has the aftermarket and it’s so inexpensive compared to the rest cause it doesn’t have the dealer markups. Plus it’s as refined as the ridiculously expensive rs3 or a45

Richard Ferrari owned one and believe me it’s not. It’s the most overhyped car I’ve ever owned and sold very quickly. Even after Mountune 375 pack felt Lardy and slow, lacked excitement unless hammering the arse off it through corners, poor build quality and the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Not a reliable car. Recall after recall. No thanks Ford. Bye bye

Definitely, light and balanced, handles like it's on rails and from a roll they are faster than you even need on the street. Excellent powerband and torque curve. They are not great in the rain or snow, but no car is perfect for everything.

yeah, hard to argue against that. Honda is P4P the best of the lot, but just gimme the RS3 anyway!

If you want speed and power, go with the RS3.. if you want the best bang for your buck, go with the Focus RS.. that's what I got from the video.

The civic did really good! I waiting for mine!!! Hopefully hopefully next month!!

I have recently bought a an Audi RS3 with miltech exhausts, I previously had a Focus RS I love both of them but the Audi delivers the power so much more smoothly.

why is the focus rs sooo underrated, it did so well we must admit.

Audi RS3 - Power to Weight Ratio: 189.1 (W/kg) Mercedes A45 AMG - Power to Weight Ratio: 186.7 (W/kg) Honda Civic Type R - Power to Weight Ratio: 167.0 (W/kg) Ford Focus RS - Power to Weight Ratio: 166.6 (W/kg) Golf R - Power to Weight Ratio: 146.9 (W/kg) The results were as expected, with the exception of the Ford vs Honda (rolling start), that should have been much closer.

Here in singapore its even more worst price quote are in usd.. Audi rs3 - $234,644.00 usd A45 amg - $219,317.80 usd Golf R - $155,719.00 usd Focus RS - $154,000.00 usd Type R - $144,741.72 usd

The Ranking and HP for each car were hand in hand, what a shock!

The Mac yes its an utter shit engine and shit car with really bad performance, just a car meant for wannabe car guys under 25 who think something aroubd 300 hp are considered sporty and the cool spoiler makes my car fast!!1!1!1! I hate the civic drivers and all of the cars racing in the vid, i have 0 clue why they even bother to race cars way above their league (500hp+ M cars amg etc) ?? 2 litre shit crackling engine with artificial sound almost like from a speaker. Those cars were never and will never be considered sporty
