No the director did not want anyone to see ram's backstory before this scene. It was only revealed later when vheem meet Sita.

u can't really judge the character without knowing the plot .

This shows how british colonise in india and how they treat indians at that time. The character who beats the presion you can know more about him after showing the movie. Story of this movie is really awesome and emotional.

The movie's not based on true events, but the two main characters are famous Indian revolutionaries - the director got the idea to make a movie speculating about what would happen if the two had met before their respective revolutionary actions and became friends. Indian movies are rad because they don't shy away from showing the brutality of colonialism. Love to see the british get bodied!

Even in this scene, if they had focussed, they would have noticed how Ram wipes a tear from his eye while pretending to wipe the blood from his face.

What the heck... you guys react to movies by watching in bits and pieces and random bits... the character you are abusing is a legend. Watching the previous scene will explain grand scheme of things...

There's the best justification possible for Ram's behavior in the scene before this and again just before the climax. If you don't watch that, then you'll have zero context for Ram's character

You are skipping some parts, so how can you understand things going on ?

The characters ramaraju and bheem are based on real freedom fighters Alluri sitaram raju and komaram bheem but the story is fictional. You can see resembles in the attire of ramaraju in the climax scene and the slogan on the flag is also real.

This wasn't true but there are stories more amazing than this that were actually true like ambedkar, bhagat singh Bhagat singh did not eat or drink nothing for more than 25 days even though britishers were forcing food and milk into his mouth not one bite he swallowed he was a legend

Alluri Sita Rama Raju was a freedom fighter specialised in guerrilla tactics who destroyed police stations and raided the barracks double and sometimes triple the size of his army with bows and arrows, primitive bombs and guns that the British required a full-fledged army from the other parts of the country to defeat a handful of men under his command. Komaram Bheem fought against the Nizam rulers of Hyderabad to reclaim the villages in the forests of Telangana and holy sites of the displaced and dispersed Gondu tribesmen.

Not just his people, Alluri Seetaramaraju is a great Indian freedom fighter who played a key role in inspiring people to fight for their freedom, Even tho they never met in real life this fictional arc is really touching

If you guys get to visit the Andaman and Nicobar islands, make sure you visit the cellular jail. The jail has been constructed in such a way that there is no means of communication amongst prisoners from one cell to the other or escape. They have a display of various torture devices(some original and some replicas) and brutal methods used on freedom fighters imprisoned there by the British during their colonization. There is also a separate execution chamber. Make sure you get a good tour guide who can explain everything in detail. You can also do a bit of reading about it before visiting there.
