The number of RPG variants are just so mind boggling. I think one variant that is missing is the thermobaric/fuel to air explosive one. I've seen videos of those and they seem more suited for soft skin vehicles. Of course...it would be dangerous to fire those so close!

The rpg9 as they are calling it is actually a BLU66 or 24 cluster bomb. They are recoverd duds that are defused and attach to a pg-2 tail and fuse.

That's a homemade warhead variant that uses old sub-munition bodies used in the Vietnam War era. If you look up BLU-2 and similar designations, you'll find that specific sub-munition.

A little known fact is that it was the Vietnamese army in Cambodia 1979-1989 that used rpg2 with modified ammunition from the American orange BLU24A cluster bomb , the purpose was to create a bullet that did more damage to infantry instead of bullets. anti-tank tradition, because of the occupation of Cambodia from 1979-1989, the Vietnamese army did not have to face the Khmer Rouge army tanks (pon pot genocidal regime)

And then the OG-7V fragmentation grenade's got popular shortly after/near end of Vietnam. I think the early 70's they came out with a few more infantry based rockets.

+surbhit sharma They are both powerful but have different uses. The B40 when fired lobs like a mortar while the RPG7 is rocket assisted so it looks & sounds more impressive when fired. The B40 is a High Explosive Duel Purpose round and is designed for firing at troops while the RPG7 is an armour piercing round designed for vehicles like tanks and trucks. They are both powerful but the explosive effect is different

In fact there are a RPG2/B40 ammo made by VietNam army using in Cambodia war They made it from USA Cluster Bomb BLU-24 C/B . It better for damage human more than destroy vehicle And one more : RPG2 using in clip look like RGP7 (with decompression chamber - reduce shock) that is variant of RPG 2: China Type 69 RPG.

quick question (prob been asked a thousand times before) but if any of these weapons are from Cambodia could they be left over from Vietnam and if so didn't the US let boobytrapped ammo/explosives get purposely captured. TLDR could they potentially blow up in your face/hand/gun?

you do know that all m16 or m60 or any american made weapon are left over from vietnam war right ? and they are not booby trapped cause the m16 still being used by the militia force in vietnam ( militia = local civilian ) + highly doubt they will booby trapped ammo cause south vietnam army still using american made weapon when you guy leaving vietnam ... so no weapon are booby trapped no ammo are boobytrapped + if it have the khmer rough that using those gun have been kill and the gun / ammo that been trap have been used up ( fun fact we still keep m1 garand + m1 cacbin for the militia man if we can export that back to america we can made tons of $$ :) i heard m1 cacbin are expensive over there too bad our govt like to keep all type of gun and dont like to export gun :) )
