You ignore how he exploited how royce is a sidekick & the “i spit your verse to get immersed inside my enemy just to remind they gotta go through you just to get me” is harder than anything on lambda. And you ignore how he FREESTYLED all that. He also had the funny one liners “you walk the walk i mean we seen you walk all over the house” / also shit on royce for tryna play the gangster role as well as the hood peacemaker. You missed a lot

Damn Scru, I thought you were really following this cuz this has been going on for a month. It initially started with Kay Slay's top 10 post and RJ Payne's tweet. Royce and Lu were on live and Mickey Factz and Ransom hopped in. The tension initiated when Lu brought up End of the Week where rappers compete on a stage in different categories and talks about the Winner, Osyris Antham. Royce was being kinda dismissive about it and Antham took a shot at Royce. Weeks later, dudes are still on live talking about the same thing and Lupe was like why aren't rappers rapping? A week goes by and the King Los and Daylyt battle happens and it's a success ( keep in mind this conversation has going on a while ) so guys were talking. That very same evening was the evening where Royce and Lupe had the heated exchange and Lupe was on live for 9 minutes freestyling about Royce right after. During this time Osyris took another shot at Royce. 1 week later ... Royce drops the diss track and here we are. I'm only 2 mins into the video btw so i hope this fills in some blanks.

It started when two other rappers (I forget) claimed they were the best rappers. Royce then said they weren't and that sparked an IG live Convo where him, Lupe and others were talking about how to determine the best. Lupe mentioned an international rap contest called E O Dub and said that their champion is the best rappers because he proved it. Royce said that he was better than all them and Lupe said he had to prove it. This sparked some competition as everyone started claiming they were better and Lupe challenged them all to rap. Royce got annoyed and him and Lupe started to get into it a little. Then Loaded Lux and Mook tried to set up a battle between Lupe and Royce, Royce said he'd win. Loaded Lux called Lupe and told him that Royce wanted to challenge him and so Lupe joined the live and challenged Royce. They got into it some more and Royce ended up calling Lupe a Bitch. Lupe left. Mickey Factz then told Lupe that Royce was going to drop a diss response. So Lupe did a 9 min freestyle dissing Royce on his live. That's how we got to this. Edit: Royce's diss is a response to the Lupe IG live freestyle.

Cause it wasn't directed to Royce. He was never battling Royce. He was freestyling for a bunch of rappers including his friends. Royce then made it a Lupe vs Royce thing which Lupe never wanted to do. He wanted rappers to go rap at EOW. Lupe was a judge at EOW one time. So Royce got it twisted and thought he could get a way with starting beef in front of everyone and not in the way Lupe would have wanted anyways and forced Lupe's hand. So Lupe had to smash him

This is tough!🔥 It honestly depends on what you like. For a diss track, I'm leaning towards Lu just because it seems he was more direct, and his delivery on the beat he chose keeps your attention. However if you're into technical bars and you relisten to Royce's track, you catch so many gems. All in all, as a diss track for the low attention span of a lot of people, Lupes track is more clear, direct, and has that pop in the punchlines. Honestly it's close, if you listen to both tracks multiple times, I think I got Lupe for replay value, but thats my biased opinion because I like Lu's flow on here. We need rd 2

I think Lupe is winning but to be fair this is like Lupe's round 2 Vs Royce's round 1. That being said Royce's song choice and mixing wasn't optimal, made it hard to hear what he was actually saying whereas Lupe came with a clearer track full of counter punches, so Royce needs to do the same if he responds if he wants to win or even tie. Sure Royce's somg was more technical but at the end of the day it's a battle conprised of disses, not who has the better technical skills.Royce is trying to play chess in a Knock em sock em robot competition.

Lupe straight up Sun Tzu'd him, win or not. Royce wanted to fight technically, make it all look pretty. He came up with a super intricate piece and dared the intellectual Lupe to out-technique his Opus. Then Lupe made the fight ugly. He lanced straight into him with no respect whatsoever for the piece he made and kicked the legs out from under him. All this technical lyrical banana bread and this one off the top of my head sounds every bit as fire, if not more. And most of all, every lyric is there to make you feel ashamed of yourself. Pretty that up.
