Very useful.
I don’t get why you move it to the left pass the 0 marking rather than just put it in the 0 scale and mark off that makes is crazy confusing which still gives you the 3.5km showing half more and it would be 4km .
But why measure it with 1cm up against 0 on the scale when u measured the two points from 0 ?
Wrong!!! The corners in a grid square are 1.4kms apart not 1.5kms. 1/10th of a kilometre is 100metres. No wonder death by friendly fire is so common with map reading skills like yours. Dear oh dear!!!!!!!!!! Back to school corporal!!!!!!

If you're going to be pedantic, the distance between corners is sqrt(2).
