The "Rape of Nanking" shocked the hell out of me really. I only see Japanese people as very shy, respectful, and hardworking but I seriously couldn't believe the Imperial Japanese army's war crimes especially in Nanking. Literally thought "how could a human being do these kind of stuffs to another human being?!"

I'm not a gamer (I watch your other vids), but I love your funny reactions. Your smile and laugh is infectious!
Noticing the gradual and incremental approach is very key. It is SO important for modern times. It is always easy to recognize in retrospect but these types of things are still happening today and unfortunately very close to home.
Would love to watch you react to Part 2!

Honestly the saddest thing wasn’t even the fact that Italy was chemical bombing a small African nation that was using wooden spears against tanks it’s the fact that they nearly lost basically did and then had to come back with chemical bombs to win against as much smaller nation using wooden spears against their tanks and airplanes

I'm Scottish and my great grandpa was a veteran of world war 2, always saw him as a hero but never got to meet him as I am quite young, then my great great grandpa was a shipmaster in ww1 and kept ports and naval bases running and got an award from the king, a certificate and a medal my gran still owns, awesome to look back and see what hero's were in yer family 🙌🏴

This is gonna be a BANGERRRRRRR haha you've grown so much man been subbed right before you blew up at 5k.... crazyy
The thing I find interesting about WW2 is that the monarchs of the majority of the countries Hitler invaded fled to the UK but still sent messages to their country to bring hope to those still living there. The only monarch that didn't flee was King Christian X of Denmark, who walked around on a horse in Copenhagen every day without guards he quickly became a symbol of resistance.
oh yes THIS IS GONNA BE AMAZING. PLZ DO MORE OF OVERSIMPLIFIED LOVE U

My grandma has often told how she survived as a child when Düsseldorf was bombed. She must have experienced pure horror. I hope we will never ever have the terrors of war in Europe again. Still we have them in many areas of the world. I can't understand why mankind just cannot work together and how power-hungry people can live with bringing death and loss to so many people... I love your vids, and this crossover!!
Man you nailed it when you said how scary it is when a nation just lets things happen especially if you stand back and think about it today.
oversimplified videos are the ones that you don't have to take in to seriously in terms of detail like the aliens i guess 😅, but sometimes you got to really pay attention on the small details too for example, in one moment i forget which video, a country sneezes, which represents it's having a small pandemic, I really like oversimplified videos for it

Im damn early, also didnt expect this reaction! NICE!
I’m happy that you’ve chosen to react to Oversimplified and look forward to more reactions to his videos. Regarding Churchill, my opinion of the man is that he was every bit as crazy, murderous and racist as Hitler...which made him the perfect man to lead Britain against him. Churchill’s decisions during the war, such as attacking the French Navy, re-routing food supplies from Bengal and making false promises to Eastern European nations, can all be argued to have been morally terrible but necessary actions to Ensure Britain’s survival. He did what he felt he needed to. Still, I find it highly amusing that he was fired not long after the war ended. I love Churchill as a historical figure and would gladly watch a TV series of him that is honest and upfront about the sort of person he was. Apparently the guy genuinely enjoyed being a soldier in WW1. Like I said; crazy.
Another Great video👍, one of my favorite war stories is the 30 Belgian soliders who held the entire German army back for about two weeks

YOU JOINED THE MARINES WITH 16!? I am 18 and I dont even know how to cook! Dude you got my respect!
One thing I rarely ever see mentioned, is the reason why the rescue at Dunkirk was such a resounding success for Britain. It could’ve easily ended in a bloodbath and a complete failure. Shortly before the Raid on Dunkirk, Hitler personally ordered the Wehrmacht to stop and take a break for a few days. The Invasion of France was going ‘too well’ in Hitler’s eyes as he heavily suspected an Allied Trap. This eventually turned out to be unfounded, but by the time he had realized this, it was already to late. British Troops were already in the midst of evacuating, when the German Army finally arrived. Many Historians called this Hitlers first and greatest Mistake. It is believed that without this short mandatory break, Britain’s Army in France would’ve been annihilated, Churchill probably forced to resign and his successor would’ve had to make peace with Germany. Britain had its best troops in France and would they have been wiped out, there would have been little chance to survive a land invasion. It is scary to think about how one little mistake may have completely changed the war and if Hitler listened to his Generals (who basically all opposed this break) History could’ve been completely different and the Third Reich could’ve won the War…
I love your vids
Chamberlain actually kept working for churchhill during the war. He got a cancer diagnosis some time after resigning but him and churchill kinda chose to keep it secret for moral purposes. He didn't live long after the war.
PART 2 PLEASE
Luke i have to warn you Oversimplified is very good with his transitions to the ads from his sponsors
Dude, not sure its something you could do for the channel but maybe more in your own time, but if you want to learn more on ww2 I suggest watching ww2 in colour on netflix, very informative, goes fairly in depth into some of the key moments of ww2, plus seeing previously black and white footage in colour to me at least makes it feel more real. Good content man.
Oversimplified rly got me into history
Ah yeah react to Part 2 of WW2. I have been waiting for you to do reaction videos to Oversimplified. Oversimplified on the American Revolution and Civil War are good videos too.
Now that you've starting to Oversimplified channel, I recommend The Operations Room's channel. The channel is all about explaining military maneuvers for certain battles, currently it's on Desert Storm with a few other battles in between.
fun fact: Operation Catapult, a British plan to neutralise or destroy French ships to prevent them falling into German hands in the aftermath of the Allied defeat in the Battle of France. The British bombardment of the base killed 1,297 French servicemen, sank a battleship and damaged five other ships, for a British loss of five aircraft shot down and two crewmen killed. The British attack was almost universally condemned in France and resentment festered for years over what was considered a betrayal by their former ally. Marshal Philippe Pétain, who was appointed the prime minister of France on 16 June, severed diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom on 8 July.
please do episode 2 :D
Brilliant animation that!
Oh yeah this is definitely Call of Duty 2003. Of course, KZread. MOAR Oversimplified!
9:59 smacked me awake. Now every step I take I ask myself that, stuck in my head.
i'm forever impressed, how the british spindoctered a "desperate last minute escape" into some sort of victory.
Dunkirk is a bad movie, since it does not even mention the sacrifice of 50k french soldiers in Lille and Dunkirk to give time for the brit to flee. We don't even see french soldiers in this """historical""" movie. I find it quite hypocritical since the brit never fought in dunkirk because, as the british general Alexander himself said to the french general Fagalde, "my soldiers are tired" (even if they basicaly never fought the german in France and passed their time fleeing from the front line). Churchill admitted that the epic resistance of the french division in Lille commanded by general Molinié, fighting and sacrifying themselfs 20k french soldiers against 150k germans, saved 180k british soldiers. Knowing that they wanted to rescue 20k soldiers, at most, at the start of the operation I think Nolan could have given some credit to the french army in his movie.

@@lafaucheuse2001 Several things. Rewriting history would be if the Germans broke through and captured the soldiers trapped on the beaches. Or say, have the American airforce appear to save the evacuation. The movie leaves out events to keep the pace going and keep the runtime under more than several hours. You're talking out if your ass if you say the British never fought the Germans in France. Ironic considering you accuse the movie of rewriting history. No movie is completely historically accurate. Historical based movies will always take liberties. There is a general consensus among movies critics and watchers that Dunkirk is brilliant in terms of score, cinematography, and many other categories.

Fun fact. In many major cities in the UK and Europe, People are still finding old unexploded bombs. The most recent to my knowledge being 3 weeks ago in Exeter UK, Where a roughly 1000lb bomb was detonated by EOD.
