Fun fact: müller didn't actually die, the shots when the screen went black were the Americans shooting Schröder. Müller was captured and was a POW in America, when he was set free he stayed in America and changed his last name to Miller, and is the great grandfather of Miller from the thunder run tank mission in bf3

@@Filipino_boy-tk7jo At first I rlly hated Schroeder just like everyone else but after I rewatched a couple times after playing I realized that he was a victim as well. Guy was brainwashed and Peter didn't do anything to dissuade him as Kertz said in the beginning with all the talk of being stronger together and said he fed him the party line. By the time Peter started having doubts Schroeder had basically become a fanatic. While I dont think that he's free from blame I definitely think Muller could have helped to make him turn out differently as his respected Commandant.

@@lorcanatkinson8595 that’s… not always true. In fact a lot of times the American soldiers in particular were pretty unforgiving to the Wehrmacht soldiers. While Americans were a lot more humane that say, the Russians for example. I highly doubt that many enlisted soldiers would be giving the option of surrendering. (Except in specific situations were the situation was just so hopeless, and the Americans were getting annoyed that the Germans were even bothering to fight anymore. This wasn’t a “oh we feel so sorry for you” thing and more a “I’m here because you assholes won’t just give up and let me go home”.) Far more often, Americans would simply allow the Germans to keep fighting. Assuming that if they wanted to surrender, they would have done it already. Even executing POW’s summarily (in particular officers, anyone wearing an American coat, or SS officials) was fairly common. It’s honestly hard to assume just how many times this happened, since many of these executions may have been covered up by the military, by simply counting them among enemy combatant casualties. One of the most realistic representations of the attitude of American soldiers you’ll ever see was in the movie Fury. One scene always sticks out to me, in which German soldiers are burning after being hit by an air strike, and the character Norman kills them all to end their suffering. The Sergeant next to him comments “you should have let them burn”.

This is storytelling at it's finest. It really shows the difference between the old, and the new. The old are experienced, wise, lenient, grounded, realistic and independent. Whereas the young are inexperienced, gullible, and brainwashed. They are blinded by their ideology and THEIR truth. They FAIL to see what the reality of the situation is and refuse to believe something that they think to be impossible. The young can be molded from their inexperience. The old are grounded and have knowledge on all their is to know about the situation to think critically and independently to see the reality they now face.

Fanaticism from extremist ideologies like fascism and communism is contagious and very strong. Pretty much the reason why the only country that could afford to spill the same amount of blood necessary and win a loosing war against the Reich was the Soviet Union. Stalin and Hitler had an iron grip on their population. Millions blinded by fanaticism and absolute allegiance to their state, people, ideology and leader. That is why, despite democracies being powerful through soft power, alliances, and industrial sharing; a self sustaining autarky with a fanatic ideology like Nazi Germany or the USSR is far more dangerous than a single democracy

I still encourage you to play Black Mesa, it is such a fun game and compelling story. Onto the Last Tiger and its ending. I think what makes it so sad, is that you can see the difference and effect the Nazi Ideology had on Schroder and Hauptmann. Hauptmann was likely someone who grew up in a house hold that didn't adhere to the Nazi ideology; and knew what life was like beyond all the death, destruction, and terror. He knew what he was fighting for and how it was wrong, and was terrified of dying for something he didn't believe in. Schroder on the other hand is even more tragic to me, even though most dismiss as an annoying little shit. Everything he spouts he genuinely believes, because he doesn't know any better. He was likely raised in a household of fanatical Nazi's, who raised him to follow the party line; and you can see at the end his world view crumbling around him, and he tries to stay true to what he believes because... what else can he do? he has been conditioned to follow orders to the letter without question, he has been conditioned to know that surrender is betrayal. In the end, there was nothing anyone could do for him; because his mind was long gone and taken from him by circumstances beyond his control.

You need to play BFBC1 and 2 (Bad Company), you will really enjoy it. Not the first time I said it, and not the first person that has said it :D That company is just hilarious and amazing, like seriously, it's entirely different from what other shooters had been, regarding story, a rare type, even nowadays. P.S. There is a rumor or a speculation, that the Mūller, this Commander of this Tiger, is possibly related to Miller in BF3 in the tank fights who was holding that dinosaur at the start of the tank mission, so possibly the Mūller survived and the kid got shot instead, thus having grandchild, because Miller is a translated from Mūller.

I really hope the next Battlefield will only be available for PC and next gen (PS5/XSX). I feel like it would be a great disservice to the capabilities of the game if they attempted to accommodate the older hardware of the PS4 and X1X. From the teaser/snippit that was released relatively recently, it seems like it'll be a pretty big game in scope, even compared to these recent ones.
