pure technical, not for everyone. love bit.
For any engine if metallurgy quality is good and other provisions for vibration dissipation are made better compression ratio means more power per litre. Better atomisation will lead to better combustion and less emissions.

Baapre! Thank you so much for so discussing so many intricate details of RE's new engines. So many words went over my head in understanding. So this video gives me a good starting point for some research time that I need to dedicate over the new few weeks for myself. Thank you for inspiring us, bhai. Cheers! P.S: which motorcycles do you own, Jeet Jee :) ? And hope to in the future :) ...go wild, would love to see your list please :)
I would have been happier if they had gone with liquid cooled all aluminium engine, not only it would reduces the mass but also allowed to increases compression ratio and vibration damping.

Wonderful idea but it would take away from what RE aesthetics and engineering. You're asking them to make engines like other brands. Rather, we should've gotten this new "J" series engine years back. RE is just too slow with rolling these new innovations. I would prefer a slow, comfortable, good looking and reliable RE over a half assed machine they once created and never improved upon.
@yash_kambli

@@sagarthapa3765 yes, RE is just too slow to bring improvements, jawa which is direct competitor of re has already done this and it's not like they couldn't have afford this but their vry stubborn nature prove here again.

They even struggled to push BS6 update?
Excellent knowledge about re
Best information
Improving compression ratio is a good thing. It provides for extracting more torque and power from the same engine and allows for better fuel economy. Yes I know there are chances of knocking, but i am pretty sure RE has used a newer piston design and newer piston rings to manage all that heat. Do note that the Splendors and the Activas(upto 5g) used a compression ratio of about 9.5:1 and are air-cooled engines and have never really suffered from knocking problems. The newer BS-VI Honda Shine and Hero Glamour uses a compression ratio of 9.9-10.1:1 and doesn't suffer from knocking. So it shouldn't be much of a concern.
@aviator9985
2 жыл бұрын
The knocking is due to feedback from the wheels that have a forward inertia. Especially, when the engine is not available to produce enough torque in a particular gear range. A heavy flywheel with backlash damper and a lightweight chassis frame is the way to go. 1. Kick start 2. Gloves box 3. Reduce overall length 4. Lightweight wheels 5. Aluminium swing arm 6. Reduce front end weight 7. Increase clearance between engine and fuel tank. 8. The KLR650, is a good bike, but it's difficult to lift when it's on the ground. So, adventure motoring prefer 400 to 600cc motorcycles that are easy to manage with out help.
Can anyone recommend an engine b/w J series and 411 FI in scram ?
Your great Mich bro
Times are changing. Will be interesting to see how RE will maintain its hold on the market, specially after adapting to the newer generation engines. Slowly it's uniqueness is fading away.

I just got the new classic 350 in black color like the one at 2:02 and my god, it is a night and day difference compared to the old UCE engine because I also had a thunderbird 350x which is sold now. Almost japanese level smoothness and first service isn't even done yet. I will complete atleast 3000kms on mineral oil and then use motul's 300v 15w50 oil because it takes only 1.7 litres of oil so no major cost even if I use such a premium quality oil. And then hopefully the faint buzz on the handlebar and pegs will also vanish.

Hi Jeet, I have a question for you. I just purchased the Hunter 350 on 1st December 2022 & got it serviced after completing 500 Kms. I'm noticing an error after servicing. Whenever I turn the handlebar to extreme left or extreme right after starting engine, the engine revs a little. Is the accelerator cable pulling itself or anything else? Can you please revert?

it would have been better if they have provided hunter 450 , instead of 350 in my opinion, because there were already 350cc engines on the classic and standard, Hunter was new boom to the market maintaining retro yet modern urban scrambler type looks 450cc was justified with new looks with the price of 2.3L

Use a fully synthetic oil of the right grade. These engines run on a relaxed compression ratio. Ain't no way it can get that hot if you're using the right oil.

@@sierrachief117 Royal Enfield original engine oil is used till now. It's a 400cc engine and it's very normal to be heated without a liquid cooling system.

@@rajorshighosh8167 liquid gun is not a very good oil when it comes to heat dissipation. Do one thing, tell the mechanic to use Motul 7100 15w50 synthetic oil in the next service, change the air filter and if your bike has a carburetor, tune it a bit richer. And the bike will transform completely. It will become that much smoother and run cooler.
