I don’t believe what I just watched! Did that mechanic just take a hammer and chisel to your steering head bearings? That is the worst! Tell the lazy and incompetent man to strip it down including handlebars off and fork legs out, clean the bearings, re-grease and reassemble properly. It is a known and recognised problem of the Himalayan in the U.K. of owners having problems with over tight steering head bearings. Also, would someone tell me how you can tighten spokes on a wheel and expect the wheel to still be true after without taking the wheel out and putting on a wheel stand? I would be concerned if someone did that to my bike. Best regards Scoots

The things is they are not appropriate by the SOP recommend by RE ,,,so you called them lazy ,,no offense. I wasn't expecting from them to use chisel n hammer ,,,

Leh Express what I mean by lazy is the hammer and chisel is a quick fix but not good practice. Those bearings are precision components and intended to be tightened to a specific torque or you could damage them. It takes more time and labour to do a job properly. Get him to fix it properly. I also do not like to see those air tools being used too often on bikes either. In the wrong hands they often tighten nuts and bolts too tight and cause damage. Just my opinion though but I cannot think of many things on a motorcycle that would need a big air impact wrench to tighten to the correct torque.

Leh Express I watched another video of a similar service on the same bike somewhere in India and those mechanics looked very professional in their work. They also wore appropriate clothing (overalls not flowery shirts) and did a very thorough job. Something else that crossed my mind was why not wash the bike before the service instead of after. With a car then fine you would expect the car to be cleaned after but with a bike, taking a high pressure washer to the electrics, clocks and areas near bearings and lubrication points is a bad idea. Just my opinion you will understand. I’m really enjoying your channel and subscribed! Ride safe Scoots

I own a Himalayan Sleet ABS & recently got cone set bearing replaced because the old one got rusted due to water entering inside the tstam. I was facing similar handle issues like you are facing. So, I bought ZKL bearings which are of better quality than SKF(OEM) which RE provides & used black gel grease(used for truck bearings) to lubricate them which will help to protect them even if water enters again.

Bhai jo ye handel wali problem hai apki. Ye meri standard me bhi h. iske liye apko chassis alignment karni hogi . Handel ka koi issue nahi h.. delhi se ho aap toh sardar ji alignment wale pahad gunj best bnde hai. Mne bhi wahi se karai h

One thing is wrong bro, is the washing after service. The lubricants & cleaners they used, will wash off by the pressure of water. So always wash your bike first, then send it to the service ramp. Thanks

So if you going ladak trip you can ask one mechanic to sit with you with Tools and spares !! RE won't listen to improve. Atleast the new 650 is much smooth!! Himalayan should have had such technology.. They just selling some 1947 engines. Stearing cones, tank rust plus leak,coil failed, frame cut,clutch fail,Tappet issue, every moving part is a issue.. Honda 125 shine will be better to ride ,, Re won't improve their tech though .. All the best ..

Hi I was watching few videos on Himalayan.Came across your vlog.The handle problem is bcoz the cabling is tight under your Handle.I had seen some vloggers complaining about it,they rectified it by loosening those cable.Please contact your RE mechanic,if he is not aware about it kindly ask him to check with an experienced mechanic.It was surprising to see that guy hammering.

Tumhari chases mein twist hai. To check this you have to look you bike from behind and both the tyres should be in line.

Stand in front of the bike, straddling the front wheel, and sight down the top tube. Verify that there is no twist in the bottom Front Right Shock. Fork causing the front steering tube to not be in line.Thanks

Bhai me bhi Thunderbird ka har service pe engine oil change karta hu. Topup vagra sab bakwas hai. Liquid Gun engine oil hai level kam nhi hoti. Pure walo ki hi level kam hoti hai jaise full synthetic. Or liquid Gun me me 2200 km complete hone ke baad Vese bhi oil fuk jata hai vibrations badhte hai. So it's better to change engine oil instead of topups.

They removed the extra spilled oily surface around the part except the chains,,,they didn't spray the jet as much it seems ,,,I was there n recorded,,,

Leh Express I would be tempted to leave the excess on the frame and wipe any oil from the contact parts I.e grips and foot pegs, levers and pedals. Saves you a corrosion problem later

I am not sure about this service center.. but in mumbai.. i tried 2 different service station in my 2 free services.. and experience the worst serviceing.. It was good.. because you are a KZreadr.. they are least interested in attending normal people... Neither the attending nor their service... I have tried solving my problem of tik tik sound from engine but not yet resolved.. I dont know why this thing is happening being such a big brand..

I told them about the tik tik noise.. they said.. they can't touch it until 5000kms.. so i said how can i ride with that noise.. its extremely high in my Himalayan.. so i was worried.. they replied.. sorry we can't help!! I have crossed 2890kms yet.. its more 2k kms..

It's strange but honestly you are wrong service center,,I can't believe they said they can't open the engine head ,,,it must be tappets loose sounds ,,, Again go and force them to fixed that ,,,,you got new bike it's under warranty ok so don't waste your time ,,,call the coustomer care n recall the whole story,,what you been facing ,,,and tell them the service center name who's not being more responsive regarding your Service issue,,,

So dont worry we will be doing it after 5000kms .. i asked them ,whatif some major issues happens in my bike.. do u take the responsibility.. then he said.. its in warranty.. if something happens we will replace the engine.. i mean like they dont want to do the work.. and claiming different different reasons.. its horrible

Maintenance is expensive after company free service

Your front is out that is the reason its heading to right side

You think it is the right way to service the adv...then I'm just nothing to say anything... your videos is good..and the price of 900 to 1000 rs is good for a 411cc budget service cost...but the service is not worth it...now one lube the clutch cable with the chain lube..because it's very sticky and when the on it...its will effect in your riding..also clutch should be jammed or not working properly..and i saw the mechanic sprayed the chain lube entire all the parts but why..spark plug cleaning process very old technology. .sand blasting machine..and re mobile you think it's good?then try once motul v300 or v700..you can feel the deference of the engine sound and also the performance...

Now you r new .see the bike performance level after 1 or 2 years later .RE is most worst service provider in India its better to get your bike service by a good mechanic..I have thunDerbird 350 bs4 2017 model. Last 2 years i have been servicing my bike from authoriSed service center . You dont believe that they havnt change the spark plug in last 2 years for that reason my 5000rs selfbearing got damaged. I have waste 5000rs for their idiot mechanic .. RE bikes are the best quality bike but mechanic is the main reason why most of the customer are selling their RE and shifting to dominer or any other bike . They dont have any practical knowledge.
