    Nice 2 videos and re the Ceat tyres they are good in the wet as well, did 60 miles this morning in the rain on my Classic and they gave no cause for concern. Listening to the video with headphones sounded very similar to pre de cat I just love the sound of the single just so relaxing as you go along. I think with 1400 miles now the engine is far stronger now and for me belies the 20 bhp that she possesses. Every time I ride her it’s a great experience, keep up the great videos Ian 🙂

  • @ianhughesroyalenfield

    To be honest, when I saw the rather agricultural tread pattern of the rear tyre, I wasn’t expecting much, but they have actually surprised me. The little Classic 350, just keeps giving. Audibly, the de-cat has given Clementine a slightly more pleasing note. Still not offensive in any way. Add to that, what I consider to be an improved throttle response and eagerness, the swap was definitely worthwhile, at least for me. As we have agreed, I do tend to ride a bit quicker than some other owners, and if Clementine can keep a grin on my face, that’s a good thing. As I have often said, I am pleasantly surprised. Cheers

    Nice ride 👍One thing I have noticed since I been riding the Classic 350, there are a lot more bikers who ignore you!!! I have a Honda VFR 1200X and get a wave from just about everyone but on the RE it is noticeable how many just do not bother. I wonder why that is ??? I do like to know how the bike is performing (it not the cost concern but the fuel gauges are not liner and it helps understand just how much range you have left) and my Classic is giving over 100mpg which is lovely 👍👍👍

  • @ianhughesroyalenfield

    @ianhughesroyalenfield

    I have noticed that too, rarely with the Classic, sometimes with the Interceptor. One thing I have noticed, is that I usually get acknowledgement from single riders, rather than groups, plus during the week and not at weekends. 🙄🤔😂 As for the fuel, I just top up when I feel like it, or before a ride, that way I just forget about it. As mentioned in the vid, it must be doing a fair few mpg though. Bonus 👍 Cheers.

That said, looking on social media, there is an ever increasing number of people, buying the 350 as a second bike, then eventually selling their big monstrosities, as they find they are riding the 350 more. @@SOLOMOTOUK in the day’s of old, when I was 14, I drove the Fergie with a flat bed trailer. It was harvest time on my uncle’s Welsh hill farm, and all the other local farmers came to lend a hand to fork the straw onto the flatbed. Then I would drive, through three narrow gateways to get to the barn, where it would be forked off again. On what was pretty much the last run, I got cocky. The last gateway had a large boulder on the right side, so I should have taken a wider line than I did. The right trailer wheel went over said boulder, and the whole load tipped off into the cobbled yard. Guess who was made to fork it all back on, then fork off again into the barn ??? Yep, me. @@jean-jacquesnameche3429 I bought Clementine second hand, so unsure how she was run in, but assured by the dealer that the previous owner did indeed run her in correctly. I usually cruise at 50-55mph (80-88kph), but a quick blast up to 60mph (96kph) won’t do any harm, but don’t hold it there. The worst thing you can do, when running in, is to labour the engine, so good use of the gearbox is paramount.
