you've done exactly what I have done but no cutting required. used the Halfords smart charger accessory to attach to my battery and fitted it permanently to the bike. Glad you have put in on you tube for the masses. am not used to adding things to social media lol

Thanks for this comment, I've just bought a Royal Alloy and already have the Halfords Charger with the plug in accessory.

Bikes don’t have kick starts anymore, I think this should be fitted as standard . Great video 🙏

Mike Colwell ....no , I traveled to work all year round on a motorcycle and at the end of a long day, I had a flat battery and couldn’t bump it of (many times) I swore to god and all that is holy that I wouldn’t buy a motorcycle unless it had a kick start . I ended up with a Enfield bullet .Now I’m older and can afford to house and maintain something I’ve got my heart on a retro scooter. Hence why I love your channel and the videos you put out 👍

Gonna run mine up under the seat, better for my back!!! Also having fitted a similar extension in the past to a PX Vespa, I found the terminal connections corroded with the weather (was an all weather daily driver tho') YMMV

I'm a bit Hollywood when it comes to going out in bad weather. The rubber cover on the socket seems to protect it but time will tell. I agree under the seats a good option although every time I plug my charger in it says the batteries good!

@@MikeColwell the rubber perished on my PX (located below battery, by spare wheel rim) again YMMV, I still a bit reticent about drilling a hole in my new GP to come up under the seat tho' LOL

I've never had a battery issue, my trickle charger came free with my scoot so I fitted the lead. Every time I've plugged it in it shows nearly fully charged!

Hi Mike, will the charger connectors fit any modern charger, i.e the red/black square ones?
