I agree with you totally. He was so talented. I had the pleasure of seeing his amazing performance at the London Palladium in Singing in the Rain in 1980s.

He was great and could play anything it didn't have to be an instrument. RIP.

He appeared on the Garry Moore show in the US in the early 60s. Check out the paralleljulie KZread site for him working with Carol Burnett and Julie Andrews.

He guested on the Garry Moore Show 42 times. But (aside from Benny Hill & Monty Python maybe) British talent and humour didn't cross the pond well.

@eocarcharia - True! Chat-show guests only get around $500 appearance money in the US and $120 in the UK (the HOST gets the BIG money). Thus they only normally turn up out of contractural obligation to promote a movie or some such. But appearing on Parky was FUN - so they'd come on for NOTHING!

That's 8/8 not 4/4. And it's not rare enough.

Drums seem out of sorts/ key.

Horrible mix for the drums-and way slower than he usually played it

Horrid music - it's nether good jazz nor good rock. Buddy wanted to "stay young" and "keep with the times" - a mistake! I am sure he would come back to swinging jazz now.
