I remember waiting each month for you to reveal the material from Forage that your Husband gave you for Christmas. Such beautiful different fabrics. A real treasure. ❤

Oh it was lovely to flip through the fabrics again and see them, I think they need special projects like this one to be used on :)

I watched a lot of you tube yesterday and these date back to pre Civil War in the US and became known as a “housewife”. They were mostly made by women and sent with the soldier to war in order to repair his uniform. Extra buttons, bees wax and thread wrapped around wooden bobbins or bone bobbins. Very interesting history. Seamstresses who make costumes for reinactment uniforms still make thes efrom reproduction material.
