Kalibo and Aklan Province was part of Capiz until they declared its independence on 1956. From a small, sleepy capital town, malaki ang ibinago ng Kalibo sa loob ng 65 years. Walang development na nangyari kung hindi natuloy ang separation kaya malaki rin ang pasalamat namin sa Capiz na itinuturing naming "mother province".

Wow, itong Kalibo, hindi pa city pero palaban na economically. Pero sana for this vlogger, promote mo lang yung mga places hindi yung ikukumpara mo.

Sobrang siksikan sa Kalibo kasi 50km squares lang siya tapos almost half ng Land Area is Mangrove Preserved Area so ibig sabihin nagsiksikan sa 25km squares of land ang almost 90k people! What is more interesting is that 4 municipalities are very very close proximity to Kalibo with total population of 140k more people. Kaya if you look at it, mukhang busier tingnan ang Kalibo. Roxas City is lucky though, they have better land area double the size to that of Kalibo and all are open for developments and neighbouring municipalities are quite farther compared to that of Kalibo's.

Its look roxas city has bigger space for development and expansion.While kalibo is so congested and no much space for expansion except when people especially businesses will annex the more spacious baranggay bulwang in the municipality of numancia to be made as kalibos suburban district because of its proximity to the town center of kalibo.Furthermore kalibo has more potential if it will become a city because of its tourism industry. It has a big name in international and local attention in our tourism industry because of its world renowned atiatihan festival aside being the gateway to also world renowned tourist hub island of boracay.The kalibo international airport also greatly add to kalibos popularity as a tourism hub in this part of the country

Roxas City & Kalibo- future Kalibo City are sister cities or provinces whereby CAPIZNON AND AKLANON are generally on good terms and helping each other in terms of development and progress. I have so many friends in Kalibo, Aklan province as I have so many friends in Capiz province who are both good to me. As I speak Tagalog and English, I also speak Capiznon and Aklanon when ever I need to.

Your information is wrong that Aklan founded in 1571. Aklan became a province only in 1956 by virtue of RA 1414. According to history, from 1956 back to 1571 during Spanish era, Aklan was part or extension of Capiz. During that time Aklan has no identity yet, that is why we cannot read Aklan or Kalibo in the Philippine history books only Pan-ay, Capiz, the second Spanish settlement in the Philippines. The second oldest street in the Philippines is Calle Revolucion in Pan-ay, Capiz while the oldest is Calle Colon in Cebu, City. The Paseo de Evangelization in Capiz is the birthplace of Roman Catholicism and Christianity in the entire island. Aklan connected it's old history to the story of the ten Bornean datus and ati datu Marikudo in the Maragtas but that story is not true, a hoax because it has no historical basis and material evidences.

Malayo, kaya hindi pa naging City ang kalibo cuz of land area, only 16 barangays compared to roxas 47 barangays. Sa expansion ngayon ng Roxas city sa pueblo de panay malayo na ang difference. Halos kalahati sa lahat ng aspects.. Reality lang tayo on d ground, maraming high rises building na sa pueblo, at halos completo na ang Roxas City may Robinsons na SM City, citymall 2, Gaisano 2 and many more. ✌️

The kalibo international 8:08 airport also add to the popularity of this atiatihan town being a tourism hub in the western visayas region.Aklan received the highest number of visitors among the provinces in the philippines having boracay as its biggest draw seconded by the very popular atiatihan festival.

In addition to kalibos potential as a future promising area when it it will become a city is its name in the countrys thriving pena cloth weaving industry that the philippines is gaining ground as a hub to the precious pena cloth material which is fast becoming an important materials not only for making barong and dresses but also to make other household decorations and for export stuff.

It's actually called Aklanon, not Aklan.
