Biggest thing I have found take the plastic plug off use fine sand paper and clean the plug contacts 9 times out of ten this will solve the issues of the unit just spinning so remove plastic plug from search unit clean with real fine sand paper on both sides reinstall plug it should spin an pop out the buttons on top , all so there is a 10 if capacitor on top of the buttons board I think it’s 450 volts at 10 if also this could be your problem good luck

Sand the board that the plug pushes in on

Cap 10 uf at 450 volts or 10 uf at 250 should work

They are all so small contacts on each side of the search unit use a small finger Neal file for these / bit don’t attempt to mess with these as a last resort most likely the board cleaned and sand will fix this these things can be a real pain , they ether work great or they dont
