Rowboat to Bass Boat Conversion, Part-6 putting on the new deck
I'm continuing the conversion of my 1962 aluminum rowboat "Alumina" into a decked out bass boat. In this video I show you how I'm cutting and riveting the 1/2 inch PVC board to create my new boat deck. I know I said I was going to stop posting these videos but I have been getting all this work on camera so...why not?

I know I said I was going to stop posting these videos but, I have been getting all this work on camera so...why not? I might as well finish what I started. I plan to post one more construction video then it's off to the lake for the real life demonstration.

Thank you very much! The final episode will post tomorrow...I finally put her in the water.
As a overloaded project man myself I can relate to the inevitable delays and the satisfaction of realizing the completion of the project. This has been interesting and your attention to detail is impressive.

The tools make the man. The diversion from plywood is definitely a great idea.
Very enjoyable series. I'll never do this myself but love watching the process. Thanx.
Nice work

"If it floats, it boats!" Looks great! 👍
Great ideas and excellent use of materials. I'm definitely going to be copying a lot of your designs!
Nice work! Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Awesome video, as always! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for posting the work on boat. It’s really taking shape. Your video is giving me some ideas for my 1956 14 ft deep vee sea nymph. I like the idea do painting the inside bottom as it looks clean and will not reflect. Love to see what out board you are going to put on it. Great job.

I hope so too!
one-off projects are challenging but rewarding. there's no blueprint, no how-to, etc. you figure it out. i am enjoying this but can't seem to find a Part-5 video.

Looking at converting a 14 deep v to a platform. How much weight does it add to the boat? It will take away from the rated capacity? Wont be able to carry as many people
@EngineeredAngler

How much weight you add really depends on the style of build and the materials you use.
Great looking job and I admire your persistence. I start large projects like that and seem to loose interest and never finish. That 1/2” PVC looks like beautiful material, where did you find it? Thanks for sharing your ideas and I’m looking forward to your next one.

The PVC board turned out to be a really satisfying material to work with. I was able to get it at Lowes... Thanks for the encouraging words.
When you have a rivet gun everything looks like a rivet.
I must have missed what type of material your using for the floor and deck? Looks like a type of poly?
