Love how fast paced this video is, keeps it concise but I don’t feel like I missed anything

​@@leoleo1035i just built her to play on my lgs commander events and I didn't include opposition in my list, nor did I make it a stax deck but it was a fun game and it wasn't oppressive at all.

​@Lootprechaun yeah, tapping opponents creatures down was not nearly as relevant until hyldra. she's not nearly as powerful as miirym or koma or other bomb commanders

The blue/white tap deck is the type of deck everyone avoids at their LGS. It’s just not fun to play against

Hylda is honestly the first commander deck i built on my own from scratch. And it all started with me randomly buying a woe booster box, deciding to have hylda as my commander and just going through the box for about 2 hrs to decide on what to add to her deck, an hr just sifting through some extra cards and a deck that was banned by my friends and just built her… honestly pretty proud i made a comprehensive jank deck that works

i did not realize how powerful that new u/w commander was that was oppressive!

I’ve built both Rowan and Eriette, and can’t wait to see your iteration of Eriette in action. Both have massive targets on them but if they do their thing it’s spicy

not watched many episodes but matt seems like that guy that when he walks in the LGS everyone groans and no one wants to play... he'll have fun at the expense of everyone else lol

You could try it without opposition so it's not so easy to tap every creature in play!

I just made a Hylda Deck two days ago its soo fun to play

It was hard to tell from the video if this was being done, but Kellan could have been activated in response to being targeted by Hylda’s ability….which would have still given the discount on spells for life lost.

Ah, ok. Just read the fine print on Kellan’s ability…it can only be activated as a Sorcery. That explains why she wasn’t being activated.

For next time maybe he knows, but he can activate hey parasite in response I guess as many times as he wants and than tap Rowan still in response to the tap down... Difficult still since there are more down tappers so maybe that's why he chose not to 🤔

Just noticed hex parasite paying life is the cost and Rowan sees all payed life so doesn't he can just pay as much life as he wants and than Stil activate Rowan, since tapping her is aswell part of her cost sooo exsanguinate or what else spells could have been quite a bit larger... 🤔

Rown can only tap at sorcery speed, so she can’t react to being tapped down, or do anything during upkeep.

Rowan is so good that everybody start punch you and don t let u tap her ahaha i think if i m going to build her i will probably take apart the deck after 3 game ahaha nice game as always guys +!+

Personally, I would rather use willowdusk for the whole life is currency commander. Yes, willowdusk requires more of a board state but you can also gain power by the life you gain. Despite this, I do see Rowan as a firecracker that does have to be respected.

isnt hylda and diviner's wand infinite? She keeps growing every time he draws a card, then the wand costs 0 to activate no (after she reaches 4 p/t)?

You mean Agatha and Diviner's Wand? She can't reduce the cost of abilities to be less than 1 mana.

Jason, I have a question. Was there a reason for you to not pay life into Hex Parasite in resp to Matt tapping down Rowan? That way you could have lost some life, and tap down yourself to get the discount for the turn while Matt's ability was on the stack, correct?

People commenting a lot about the UW deck being oppressive and unfun to play against, but it probably just straight up folds to any spell-based decks. Hylda herself is relatively useless without a consistent untap effect, so this seems like a case of people either not running enough enchantment or general spot-removal.

I watch games to see decks do their thing. It's always greatly dissapointing to watch a control deck shut down everyone else's decks. If this were in my play group, I'd probably outright refuse to play against Hilda again. It's frustrating even just to watch it...

Why make a video with new commanders which clearly is intended to show off their powers and then let someone play a Stax deck? Stax is not cool. Everyones there to play Magic. If you play Stax you're not a magic player. You're an anti-magic player. The first time I'm watching one of your videos and likely the last if you're just going to allow someone to play something as oppressive and entirely unfun as that Hylda deck. Thats unfortunate.
