uhm, should we be looking at the scenery moving away from us, if we're rowing?

i like holofit exploring. one was a mine shaft which was really cool. i did notice that all NPC characters disappear soon after you are far away from them. kinda funny.

At least the NPC's are quite varied. Unlike Zwift that seems just to rotate the same 10 people. They must be knackered! :)

This looks such fun but I just can’t get over that there is no option to make facing backwards an option, rather than baked in to the scenario. Also the insta-start nature of the rows is offputting for faffers like me 😂. I get it that this is just a bit of gamification and fun but surely attracting those of us who want to feel like we’re rowing normally would only add to their long term subscribers. We are, after all, the ones hooked on rowing and most likely to stick with something like this for the long term even if only for short sprints or long gentle sight seeing recovery rows. Heck, I more than most could do with an incentive to do more of that 😂

Looks stunning, would be interesting to see something using graphics from google earth, or maybe a waterways version of street view 😂

I'm not sure what engine they're using for this. I'd assume it's Unreal Engine. Google, or even augmented 360 camera footage would be really interesting. If only I could design games...

It’s an interesting concept. My wife might like it since she gets so bored on the tower, but I think it would distract me from my pace, breathing and heart rate. Does the app have additional integrations with your heart rate tracker? I can imagine the gamification of heart rate training by keeping your HR within zones during a workout, or even giving you points for how well your heart rate recovers during a HIIT workout. 16:26 Yeah, I sweat like a maniac since I row in my garage in the summer so I might pass on this since it might be too gross after a while and the idea of rowing at full max then immediately cleaning a headset does not sound appealing. Maybe when we get to the VR level of Total Recall from the 80s will this make more sense for me. :)

I'm sure if I had a huge fan blowing across my face it wouldn't have been as bad... but it was relatively cool when I filmed this. As to your other questions, for this app, no. It's more about gamifying the VR rowing experience than aiming it towards actual training. I think it would take someone entirely different (like ImersURow) to enter the VR world for real rowers.

What type of rowing machines work? all those that have a connection to the smartphone? I didn't understand very well, my level of English is not very good, thank you!

Any machine with a Bluetooth connection (out) should work. Check for Bluetooth, and FTMS. the Holofit support and webpage will help.

Monthly subscription? My rower does not BT but I have seen people put the hand held rings over the rower handle.

I literally just tried this yesterday because BT didn´t work and it worked fine like this ! :)

Does it make you feel dizzy or sick. i could never use it. i would have sweat all in my eyes

I have one. No dizziness. Sweat around headset but not in my eyes. It really makes exercise easy. You forget about what you are doing. I set a timer when I am on my exercise equipment.

Holofit makes me forget I am exercising. It really adds fun to a hard workout. I use it on my rower, bike, and elliptical machine. USE A FAN! 🙂

Hahah. Yes, a fan would make a difference. But I’m also a VERY sweaty type when I exercise.

What is like sweating in the mask? Is that ok?

I talk about this towards the end of the video. After about 10 minutes, I can feel my face getting hotter. I don’t really full sweat inside the mask, but around it I do. So I use the silicon insert instead of the standard one to keep it comfortable (and stop it getting really wet!) It’s ok, but I wouldn’t want to spend more than 30 minutes without taking it off and wiping down my face!
