Love to know if I was driving one of those №31s (X not CF). I was at Westbourne Park X in 1984 to 1986. Brings back such warm and happy memories of my favourite route. We were designated routes with our own conductor which you stuck to unless you were spare or working a Rest Day. I was initially given Route 7 but managed to get on my beloved 31 route Camden to Chelsea World's End. I absolutely loved that job and driving the best buses in the world. They'd still run rings around modern buses if well maintained. Thankfully I got out just before bus deregulation though and joined Wilts & Dorset in Poole.

1st bus route I drove was the 24 more ahead in 1999 with Arriva/Grey Green very busy route heavy loadings right through the heart of London

Brilliant! I drove on the 24 in 1970 - 72 and you'd pick up politicians and all sorts but if you signed on for overtime (or if you were periodically rostered) Chalk Farm also operated the 3 to Crystal Palace, the 31 (as here) to Chelsea King's Arms (I think), the 45 which started out at Hampstead South End Green and went in a great big arc past King's Cross, across the river to Elephant and Castle, through Stockwell (I think) and back over the river ending up at South Kensington. Trouble was that "learning a route" meant sitting as a passenger once there and once back. Then maybe you didn't drive that route until one dark winter morning, doing some overtime, you found yourself trying to work out which of the mass of bus stops at Elephant and Castle was yours, and which exit at a busy junction you should take. Once went straight ahead instead of left and found myself heading into Stockwell (?) bus garage. And then there was the 68. From Camden Town to South Croydon. A great long route gave you variety. The past is a foreign country.

Nice to hear that and 26 years ago I was 37!! I bought one of the first compact camcorders made by Canon @ £1400 from Dixons. Created movie using a cathode ray tube just like old TVs and recorded onto 8mm tape. Chips were only just coming available then. Resolution was quite low 300 lines I think compared to today's 1080. Old Nicad batteries were a nightmare. Good times eh!

One day I'm going to recognise someone in these videos, or even see myself.

That's what I hope. There are a couple of programmes from my garage Westbourne Park though. 'To The World's End' and 'Seeing Red' with some of my workmates in. 'Seeing Red' I can't believe they ripped out the comfortable padded orange seating in our canteen and replaced it with hard plastic chairs. Probably shut the kitchen too? We used to get lovely meals for under £1. Subsidised of course.
