Keep the videos coming... I hope you can go 9 for 9 at your next meet... you always come so close with locking out those sumos... great content... would you be willing to do form checks?

Very good very. I liked how you took each part of the lift and explained it. Do you see the points in this being for someone that doesn’t pull sumo

It is a factor toward making lockout more difficult mechanically but as a whole, you'll likely be able to lift significantly more in both short and long term; especially for someone with a structure similar to mine (long femurs, short tibia, relatively large+ retroverted hips, short torso) as you'll hit a point after the grind past the knees where you'll be able to push your glutes through and make finishing the lockout much easier than the 'upper midrange' portion of the lift (though, I pull conventional with my feet pointed outward at greater angle than most, if my feet weren't angled this way, I doubt I'd get that strong push to lockout). It really is an individual thing though.

Isn’t this making the entire lift difficult for the sake of shortening the moment arm? Sumo is obviously meant to be slow off the floor and the lockout should be easier, but it sounds like you’re making both parts difficult. I feel like a rounded T-spine would have more merit for a conventional puller looking to limit their moment arm. Any thoughts, David?

So a round back deadlifter walks with a round back on daily basis as well...? Or he is just no able to maintain an straight contracted back position while deadlifting?

Brazos Valley Barbell You can clearly deadlift with proper posture. It was actually a question to those who defend round back to shorten moment arm.

Brazos Valley Barbell Your spine still looks neutral to me. Most round back lifters I have seen use their lower back as their primary muscles..., maybe you should do a seminar to teach them.
