Interesting design. I think you could improve the process by adding a cam acutated switch that would stop the motor when the basket is immersed. You can then load the next basket. A simple 555 timer would restart the motor and move the second basket into the water. The first birds could then be removed and the basket reloaded. Nice work.

Hi David, this seems like a great innovation for chicken processing, however for large amounts of quail it would seem quite troublesome to load them well into the roto-dunker and to take it out as well. I would love to see a modified version for gamebirds like your gamebird plucker.

does this REALLY save time? I just wonder if using the hangers with 4 birds would be as fast or is it worth the extra $ to use?

What is the largest birds this root-dunker can handle? Our birds average 6-7lbs dressed. Would it work?

And what do you mean by 'displace only half the water as the shackles'?
