Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, trees do not help grass grow, as explained in the video it also causes animals to gather in one location which in turn will also gather more manure in one location

Your drone footage is really cool. I apologize if you answered this question in your video but with the wind I had a really hard time hearing what you were saying. What is the reason(s) for keeping the sheep in the barn for 3 months? How big of a barn is it too winter that many sheep? Do you have any videos showing your barn setup?

Thank you! I can understand the wind noise issue. Our newer videos we use a better camera and microphone. Search our channel for two videos. One is called cost of confinement for sheep and the other is called cost of pasturing sheep. I believe both of these videos will answer all your questions and then some. @FulbrightFarmstead 160 ewes. Lambs are constantly changing as they are sold, we only count breeding stock

We tried running chickens behind them in the pasture but eagles kept picking them off. Honestly rotating has solved all of our parasite issues. Out of 200 head we may deworm 5 throughout a whole year. Moving them from one pasture to the next every 5 days was the best thing we have ever done.

Great video. We rotate twice a day here in north Missouri, at least till snow flys. We are notice a awsome transformation of the forage based off how we are moving them. Curious though on your barn...with the 6 day cycle of larva. How do you deal with worm once there in the barn? If half your sheep have worms an now come to barn for 3 months, they are bringing them worm to the barn with them.. thanks

When they come in the barn they have such a small amount of parasites that we have not had an issue. The bedding is cleaned out every 2 weeks but still clearly isn't soon enough to break any parasite cycles. I know that doesn't really give you much of an answer but it is the best understanding of the situation that I really have. Thanks for the question and glad you enjoyed the video!

I would also note that they do not eat anything off the ground. All their hay is in feeders.

If trees aren't pruned up and it's thickety underneath, will that keep sheep out?

They will use the trees for shade/cover if they can get under them. If the ground under them is covered in a thicket of thorns and brush they may not go under them but some sheep are determined and will still go through it. Best thing would be to brush hog junk like that if you'd like them to be under the trees for shelter.

What size are your paddocks?
