Back in the days, when I was the D.C.-10 Engineering Manager at NWA, we worked with Fed Ex to possibly convert our old birds to the MD-10. it never came to fruition. FX did a nice job on the D.C.-10-10s.

He didn't get the green box for the outboard ailerons because the flap/slat were at zero.

you warm up the engine beause you need a certain oil temperature to set the correct level ?

Isn't a dry engine run sufficient to get accurate engine oil readings ?

Always amazes me that maintenance personnel do not use the same procedures that are mandated for the pilots.

yOU don't get outboard ailerons unless you extend the slats.

Engine starts usually had a ground spotter. This start was on a empty ramp which was cleared before proceeding.

Some temperatures are in Celsius and others are in that weird Fahrenheit nonsense that only the US uses! That’s so confusing!😮 when you are monitoring the various pages and you’re having to convert between the 2 doesn’t that up the workload?😅

Don’t know why more cargo operators aren’t going for MD-10’s since 767 isn’t really available on the second hand market. The conversion program ended in 2008 not that long ago
