Why not just throw the ribbon on the bath and separate there? Seems unsafe and potentially damaging to the plate and the section to cut it on the plate like that.

While watching it seems easy but vedio has not discussed about practical problem like wrinkling of the section after section and it doesnt stretch after keeping in warm water too. Can anyone suggest me about the solution?

sections are so thick. Using microtome blade on the plate surface will damage plate.

Appreciate the video, but I am a bit appalled at the lack of compliance to lab safety. No gloves and loose hair would never fly in my lab.

I have known excellent histology labs with zero incidents in more than 50 years just working in these "poor" conditions. You risk much more your life by walking the streets every day.

    Why would you wear gloves?

I’m guessing you would likely wear gloves bc you don’t want to contaminate the tissue or specimen.

At the beginning she applies all her force to the microtome flywheel which is locked! Only after after making a full stroke she notes then the lock position and changes it to release the wheel. What a luck and don't have to share a workspace and the instrument with this woman :) Is she an Abcam employee?
