The original song is a tragedy, a song about suicide, about a life cut short, what could have been. But this cover is hopeful, almost like a relationship budding despite the knowing that it'll end one day. This version is hope, it's living life to the fullest. It's knowing that, in the end, everything will work out. This is a different song, and it's beautiful.

I'm alone during this quarantine and I was just scouring through my recommendations. Barely seeing anyone I love or care about for weeks now, I didn't click on anything because it felt like nothing could bring me any joy. Then for some reason, I clicked on this. Was it because of the sunset thumbnail??? (maybe yes, and of course, Bon Iver). I pressed play. I closed my eyes. I started to drift. Soothing, I thought. But this is a sad song, a near-tragic one. Yet, I felt something lift. Slowly. And I could hear the birds in the background. Their cool voices. Unbothered. Gentle. As the duo were laughing, I felt included Even for a brief moment. Like I was part of something. Then it all stopped. I opened my eyes again. I was still alone.

About 2 years ago my brother committed suicide, there has always been a few songs id listen to to help me numb the pain from it. this song being one of them. just wanted to say thank you for making the cover, I don't directly know what it is about it but it just really hits me more then the original and Sierra's voice combined with yours was honestly perfect for this. It goes hand in hand like shes singing from Roslyn's point of view. goosebumps to my bone. thank you Chase
