Rossi RS22M Semi Auto 22 Magnum - Zero issues and Budget friendly

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The Rossi RS22M is a Semi-Auto 22 magnum rifle with a delayed blowback action. The Steel receiver gives this rifle a real quality feel as well as gives it just enough weight so you feel virtually zero recoil. Join me as I take this rifle out in the bitter cold (15F) and see how it functions.

Got mine for $249+.. Polished round the chamber, cleaned it, haven't bought a scope as of yet. I really didn't need a semi, I wanted a bolt action instead. All n all, not a bad rifle. Next time I was in the shop, I order a Rossi 17 hmr, didn't need it either, but I wanted it. It came with a Simmon scope. It was used, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I got the rifle, scope and case for just under $200... Seems like every time I go to that little town store, I always walk out with something...

Not all folded flags represent a fallen hero, it is allowable to display the flag this way when the other approved methods cannot be achieved. Since I do not have the room at my bench to display it on a staff correctly, it is acceptable to display it folded, although I do need to put it in a case. I did research the rules before placing it there. I do love my country and my flag. My only other option would be to get a much smaller flag and place it somewhere on the wall or cabinet behind me, I may do that in the future to avoid confusion. As for the Rossi, they are a great rifle for the price. Thanks for watching and thank you for your service.

@@FeWolf I honestly couldn't say, I've never changed a barrel on anything but an AR. Many times manufacturers and gunsmith have specific tools for barrel changes, those tools can be specific and pricy, depending on the firearm. I wouldn't think a gunsmith would charge very much to do a barrel swap and it may be something they could do while you wait if you had the parts with you at the time.

Consider joining us to help stand for the exoneration and release of distinguished veteran Jeremy Brown who did NOTHING wrong on Jan6 at our nation’s capitol. JOIN THE MOVEMENT TO EXONERATE AND FREE JEREMY BROWN, AN EXEMPLARY AND DISTINGUISHED VETERAN WHO HAS SERVED OUR COUNTRY WELL. We all need to get Governor DeSantis and other brave leaders to help save Jeremy Brown from this clearly and blatant witch hunt by the illegitimate regime's wrongful prosecution of an innocent American. The illegitimate Biden Regime's goal is to use this innocent patriot and veteran as an example, so to make everyone afraid to speak out. EVERYONE SHOULD SPEAK OUT AND WRITE AND CALL THEIR REPRESENTATIVES IN CONGRESS, DEMANDING JEREMY'S RELEASE AND ALL CHARGES DROPPED. Jeremy's only "crime" - which isn't a crime - was to protest at our nation's capitol. HE DID NOTHING WRONG. He was a peaceful protector and his being there made the regime decide to go after him - especially him because of his pristine record of military service. He (and everyone else) had every right to be there. He didn't even enter the capitol. This distinguished veteran from Tampa is guilty of NOTHING: www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_app/jury-finds-jan-6-prisoner-guilty-of-6-charges-for-illegal-weapons-possession-of-classified-document_4921249.html?Morningbrief&src_src=Morningbrief&src_cmp=mb-2022-12-15&est=j8L1x3sn4ErvBeuzsG21Xa%2FQCZmqV2%2Bna3%2BaiKIHae%2BzYNDgLT4g5MFqBlkLKIZOfGpreZVV =================== The items they obviously planted during their search of his home failed the forensic tests. For the CD they claimed was stolen to have zero fingerprints and be as they said, in his possession for 20 years is illogical and impossible. That this CD came through the always rigorous customs inspections undetected doesn’t hold water either. This is a Biden-Pelosi-Schumer conspired smear job witch hunt of trying to nail someone of an attack on the Capitol which wasn’t an attack. The Capitol police opened the barricades and invited them in. JEREMY BROWN DID NOT GO IN. Planted inciters played their part, a window was broken. A woman (also a veteran) climbed through and was murdered, shot dead without a verbal warning to stop. Will we ever know the full story on this staged January 6 event? YES, AND WE ALL MUST PUT THE PRESSURE ON OUR GOOD PEOPLE IN LEADERSHIP WHO CAN TURN THIS AROUND FOR JEREMY, AND THEREBY ALSO HELP EXPOSE THIS TOTALLY CORRUPT REGIME. OUR VETERANS INDEED CAN CARRY THIS BANNER OF EXONERATION AND FREEDOM FOR JEREMY BROWN. THIS MOVEMENT STARTS RIGHT NOW, TODAY WITH YOU AND MANY MORE WHO ARE WILLING TO STAND UP FOR JEREMY.

I run a SilencerCo sparrow suppressor with a 4x fixed tasco scope and at fifty yards i have 5 shot groups in the bullseye touching each other [bench shooting ] . Although with the ammo situation i have less than 300 rounds [ not subs ] through it no jams and no misfires . For the price i think its hard to beat .

I am grateful that you posted this video... at the very least, I was forewarned about the frustration of (attempting) to reinstall the recoil spring! My first attempt lasted approximately 20 minutes with no success. I took a break, had a cup of coffee, and then returned to do battle. I tried to use a small screw driver and then a small allen key as a guide for the spring, near the bolt entrance, but that proved fruitless. I just monkeyed around with trying to guide the spring with my fingers, like you did and -- all of a sudden -- it just went into proper position and slid right in! Took all of two minutes! No idea what I did or didn't do this time, but it worked. If not for that spring, this would be a simple rifle to take down for cleaning. I have to wonder if Rossi uses some sort of positioning jig when they install these springs at the factory... some sort of "guide funnel" that puts that worm of a spring into correct orientation?

Nice review on the Rossi .22 magnum Richard, glad it cycled well for you. I have the Rossi RB22 (bolt action) and have found it's a pretty accurate shooting rifle. I've just been using the open fiber optic sights and with my special 1.25 power reading glasses seem to have pretty good luck hitting what I'm aiming at. One little problem I'm having with my RB22 is spent shell cases are randomly sticking at times in the chamber, that's with different ammo not just one brand. Not sure if Rossi has the wood stock for the automatic magnum yet, but they offer it for the RB22 LR and the bolt action Rossi magnum and the bolt action Rossi .17 calibers. I ordered the European wooden stock for my RB22 and I could not believe how much it changed the looks of the rifle. I like it a lot better.

I wanna hope that this firearm is as reliable if not more so than my 22 magnum handguns. My M&P 22 gets dirty with brass shavings a lot. But my XTM-22 actually runs really fuckin well. I want a rifle to go along with them but I’m torn between the only options I’ve got. Magnum Research MLR Savage A22 Kel-Tec is not making the cut. And this gun here. It’s got the best capacity. Also the best price point. I just need to know if this gun is reliable or not. But I can’t find anyone interested in the goddamn thing enough to tell me. You were hella insightful my friend and very detailed. Keep it up brother you’re killing the game!

It's the Savage 64f that you're thinking of for the bolt lock. Great video! I'm sure these semi auto magnum rimfires make sense for some, but for me, I don't bother with them as the ammo cost savings are negligible compared to an AR and I don't have any of the drawbacks, the worst being the pain in the butt cleaning process. Keep up the good work, looking forward to the next video!

@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Again, Rossi 92 think its 1 of the best, and excellent rifle, overall but only 2 things I don't care for on the 92 is the loading gate, wished it was longer loading gate like on the Winchester 94 and Marlin 336. For me I am kind of a taller person, but the other thing is ok for a teenager or a shorter adult, but for me wished the wood stock was a little bit longer. On my 92 I added a recoil pad on the stock, now it fits me perfect. But thinking about getting another Rossi, thinking on getting 1 of their handguns. Great demo and explanations. Can you tell us what material the trigger control group (housing) is made of? Is it aluminum or a structural plastic, or a zinc pot metal alloy? Ideally this should be made of quality steel as well. Savage and other brands have abandoned steel for trigger housings and outsourced these to China, cast from brittle pot metal. You do NOT want to drop these onto a hard concrete floor or stress them in any way. Hopefully Rossi has a better rifle in this than Savage and other brands nowadays.

The Rossi seems to be an excellent .22 mag rimfire. For me .22s are mostly for target shooting and training. I look upon a .22 mag for hunting under circumstances where a .22 long rifle is insufficient. So ammo cost is a little too much for me training or target shooting. .

Looking to pick up a CZ 457, but not sure if I want a LR or the Magnum version. The range I use is a 100 yd. range, so I'm shooting at 50 and maxing out at 100 yds. What's your opinion on accuracy on LR or Mag.?

The Magnum should shoot a little flatter but there's a pretty good bit of difference in the price of the rounds. Me personally, I like .22 Magnum in a rimfire but I like .17hmr even better. Thanks for watching!

@@SmallCaliberArmsReview I agree with you on the 17HMR. I have a Ruger American compact with Williams Globe sights, and that's one of my favorite rifles. I'm thinking that with the plethora of different 22LR ammo and the cost of the the Magnum ammo I may be better off with the 22LR. I'm not too sure if the accuracy of the magnum ammo is that much better then the 22LR for the cost. THANKS!

@@tomhoffman9729 You could always get both!! Lol. Not a bad choice either way but if you're only punching holes in paper, a magnum is a little costlier without the added benefit.

I just bought both RS22 and RS22 mag rifles. How does delayed blowback help a .22 mag cycle vs direct blowback with .22 LR?

  • @SmallCaliberArmsReview

    @SmallCaliberArmsReview

    2 жыл бұрын

The delayed blowback system gives the larger volume of powder in the .22 mag case just a little more time (milliseconds) to complete it's burn before ejecting the case. If the case starts to eject too soon, you can have case rupturing right in your face. You'd think they would just "scale" up a .22lr action but it just doesn't work like that. Thanks for watching!

That's a good answer.. I had 2 remington 597 22 mag and they said sent'em back. They had no problems, ever, but that blow back was causing problems - as it was said. I got 2 marlin bolt 22 mag in return and swear I'll never buy remington again. I still have 1 597 from my Dad and a ruger 10/22 mag. I'll just have to hope they'll be safe and good because what they're making today isn't near as nice.
