This was so much better than the X Factor! You hear that noise in the background during this audition? No? Me neither. No stupid whooping audiences, no background music, no cutaway to an emotional sob story, no hype, no gimmicks at all. Just four normal human beings looking for talent.

Agreed, so much better such a shame it didn't last that long cause of the x factor.

Always weird when you see the old ones and the audience in the studio actually LISTEN to what the judges are saying.
I saw her live on the tour she was brilliant!
Man, this was when competition shows were GOOD. No stupid drama, no screaming audiences, no corny dramatic music. Just normal talent searching. Pop Idol > X Factor

@MelanieSmellany I agree. The early shows had a much higher standard. The judges even then let some great ones slip through the cracks back then too. I gave up on these shows years ago. Apart from the fact the best rarely did that well, it stands to reason the longer they go on the more likely it is the quality of auditionees would generally deteriorate. I always liked Rosie. It's a shame so many of the better contestants didn't go on to do great things...well mainstream-wise anyway.

@jlenoconel I stopped watching the shows regularly by then -esp by the time Alexandra Burke was on it-but what I did catch didn't really blow me away with one or two exceptions and they weren't necessarily LL and definitely not AB.

And ridiculously overblown sets, costumes and 'diva' personalities.... there needs to be a punk revolution against the X-factor bollocks.
