The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

This arrangement of Cabin is the identical one that appeared on the 1960 RCA Victor Album, “Rosie Solves the Swinging Riddle” with arrangements by Rosie’s paramour at the time, Nelson Riddle. Rosie and Jose Ferrer were divorced, and Rosie was hoping to marry Nelson, but he was reluctant to divorce his wife. You can also see Rosie performing Cabin on KZread clips from On Parade (with Nelson on the show) from 1962, and 1965 Hollywood Palace among others. Obviously, Rosie was very comfortable with this song and arrangement, as it was also part of her act when she performed in other venues. She sounds a little bit tired in this clip, but nevertheless it’s a very enjoyable performance. Rosie was a constant guest on the Sullivan show, throughout the 1950s, with her final appearance in 1966. Keep those Rosie appearances coming. And who can post some of Rosie’s myriad performances from The Gary Moore Show circa early 1960s?? We’d all like to see those as well!!!

Before the misconceptions (lies?) start flying around in this thread as they have on other Rosemary performance pages here on YT, she is George's aunt, not his mother and CERTAINLY not his grandmother. In fact, he was a year old in '62 and Rosemary was 34.
