Rose McGowan On Harvey Weinstein Arrest: ‘I Didn’t Believe This Day Would Come’ | Megyn Kelly TODAY

Actress Rose McGowan, one of Harvey Weinstein’s earliest accusers, joins Megyn Kelly TODAY only 90 minutes after the disgraced Hollywood mogul surrendered to authorities in New York on sex-crime charges. “It’s real, it’s surreal, it’s both,” she says. “I actually didn’t believe this day would come.”

    Exactly. It's how they assert their dominance it's all about manipulation and control and then the victim is disbelieved which destroys their reality they are accused of being a liar insult to injury is the routine. I don't know which shame is worse the assault or talking about it and being mocked or ridiculed.

    It's great news that he has now been arrested BUT lets not forget that all the people who knew what he was doing and still sent women his way even though they knew what he would do to them, THEY ARE FREE, we need to see those people brought to justice. All the people who told the women to shut up otherwise they'd never work again those people need to be exposed as well. Those people aren't famous but they are powerful and have got away with it.

    True. A lot of stories on Disney popped up over the years. It's time to figure out if any of the accusations are actual facts. Child prostitution, sexual assault and abuse are claimed to be prolific in Hollywood. I think the public needs to learn the truth and to avoid the temptation and dangers of entering the show business.

    God love her and all of the other women he harmed. I started crying for her as she came on the show, I've been in support of women's rights and against violence towards women all my life, as boy my father and step father abused my mum and I. As a man that changed the game from a very young age, making a self directed commitment to not be or do what my fathers did, and to treat my wife & son's with love and respect, raising my boys to love and respect women, I am deeply touched by this moment. I was not old enough to defend my mum as a little boy with my father, and I was able to defend her with my step father as a teenager. I am very grateful that this day happened in the light of bringing the very powerful abusive men to justice, beginning a stronger force for zero tolerance of abusiveness and violence to women. There are so many women and girls around the world who need help right this very minute, and this is what needs our help. One of the next in line should be the current President of the United States of America, however there are many who are not in powerful positions that are equally vicious and harmful towards women, girls, children, boys and men. My heart and soul is with all of these people in harms way, and need our help this very moment. Jeffrey Stephen Rafuse, Canada

    Its a travesty how Rose has been treated and how long she has had to wait for this, but I pray the rest of her life will be just a little bit easier, and we all see a humongous change now when it comes to this level of abuse, especially from those who are privileged and powerful. No one should have their crimes protected because their powerful, NO ONE.

    How on earth am I acting black lol? Im well aware of white privilege, I'm speaking for all women all across the world and all men all across the world who have ever been a victim of abuse, and from a personal stand point too. How on earth are you turning what I am saying into a white supremacy/feminism debate lol, pipe down and chill. The subject is sexual abuse, victim shaming and blaming, and abuse of power.

  • @AnabananaBeauty

    @AnabananaBeauty

    Well I'm not a feminist and I wont ever claim to be. I am against all abuse, including what happened to Sandra which is horrific. So I personally do care about every race of woman and man, especially if they have been wronged and I will speak out about it but I dont have much of a voice on my own, thats why its good to see people coming together, like in this case with Harvey, if it had been on woman's voice nothing would have been done. That should be the same for all levels of abuse of power including that of law enforcement.

Honestly it's extremely sad how victims are too afraid to speak out because of people who have cash and power not to mention that they usually get shamed and blamed for something that they did not choose to happen to them. I have never felt anything against a talk show host. I have ones I love and ones I like and the rest I don't even think about, but when I watch her, there is just something that isn't right. I don't know if it's the voice, or that she seems fake or maybe it's the monotone voice? She never really laughs or gets excited or anything. I feel like her questions are bad and that she tries way too hard to compliment and pander to her guests but in a condescending way. She loves drama, but it's in a nondramatic way so it's just confusing and comes off false to me... She is also trying to be this hard hitting journalist or something but she is just a more sophisticated Jerry Springer... I can't believe people buy into it and I think she is majorly using the #metoo movement to further her show.

    I worked for an international company for five years and there was "one of them there". I was sexually harassed and ultimately drugged by this person at a work party. I reported it a week later to proper authorities and all my claims were completely dismissed. What Rose has done is such a battle. I still struggle to not go completely public with it so as to protect others. I believe it's come to a point that the best thing to do is to not settle for money and no disclosure agreements. It is systemic as what I reported caused NO alarm with this company. There is so much allowance for ppl to be silenced and the only defence is to scream back !
